AUGUST 20 | Memorial of Saint Bernard, Abbot and Doctor of the Church
"What we love we shall grow to resemble."
— St. Bernard of Clairvaux

About His Life:
Born in 1090 in France, Bernard entered the Cistercian Order at a young age and soon became abbot of the monastery at Clairvaux. His profound spirituality, eloquence, and wisdom influenced kings, popes, and the Church at large. Known as the “Mellifluous Doctor” for the sweetness of his preaching, he emphasized love of God, devotion to the Blessed Virgin Mary, and the pursuit of holiness. Saint Bernard’s writings continue to inspire seekers of truth and contemplatives of every age. He died in 1153 and was proclaimed Doctor of the Church in 1830.

Reflection:
Saint Bernard teaches us that true knowledge of God springs from love, not mere intellect. His life reminds us that holiness is not found in greatness or power but in humility and union with Christ. In a noisy and distracted world, his voice calls us back to simplicity of heart, contemplation, and a burning love for Jesus and Mary. Like him, may we seek God with all our hearts until we are transformed into what we love most.

Let us pray:
O God,
You filled Saint Bernard with zeal for Your house and a burning love for You.
Grant that, like him, we may be faithful in seeking You,
Humble in serving others,
And steadfast in our devotion to Christ and His Blessed Mother.
Through his intercession, may our hearts grow aflame with love divine.
Amen.

The Solemnity of St. Ezekiel Moreno invites us to reflect on a life lived for God and for others.

A missionary, healer, and faithful servant, he dedicated his life to the sick, the poor, and the suffering.

Today, we seek his intercession, especially for cancer patients and all those enduring trials. May his example inspire us to grow in faith, hope, and charity as we follow Christ more closely each day.

🙏🌿 St. Ezekiel Moreno, pray for us!

AUGUST 19 | Solemnity of San Ezekiel Moreno

“I have consecrated my whole life to the service of the people, and I am ready to sacrifice it entirely for them.”
— San Ezekiel Moreno

About His Life:
Born in 1848 in La Rioja, Spain, Ezekiel Moreno entered the Augustinian Recollects and was sent as a missionary to the Philippines and later to Colombia. He served tirelessly as priest, missionary, and bishop, bringing the sacraments and comfort to the sick, the poor, and the marginalized. Despite struggles, illnesses, and persecutions, his zeal never wavered. Known as a healer through prayer, he became a special patron of those suffering from cancer. He died in 1906, leaving a legacy of mercy, pastoral care, and unwavering faith.

IN FACT: Saint Ezekiel Moreno visited San Nicolas de Tolentino Parish in the City of Talisay, Negros Occidental some time in 1873 to seek the help of Fr. Fernando Cuenca for cure of his illness with the use of hydrotherapy.

Reflection:
The life of San Ezekiel Moreno reminds us that holiness is not lived in comfort but in courageous service. He carried the cross of illness and hardship, yet his faith in God made him a wellspring of healing for others. In his ministry, he showed that love is strongest when it is selfless, especially in times of trial. For those who are sick, weary, or in pain, San Ezekiel is a living sign that God’s grace strengthens us to endure and transforms our suffering into hope.

Let us pray:
O God of compassion,
You gave us San Ezekiel Moreno as a model of pastoral love and a comfort to the sick.
Through his intercession, grant healing to those who suffer in body, mind, or spirit,
and strengthen us to follow his example of tireless service and unwavering faith.
May we, like him, live as witnesses of Your mercy and love.
Amen.

AMOR VIDA Production
Amor Vida is a profound expression of a life centered on divine love and purpose. Amor—the purest form of love—echoes the boundless, unconditional love of God, a love that calls us to live with compassion, mercy, and selflessness. Vida, meaning “life,” is seen not as a mere passage of time, but as a sacred journey entrusted to us by God—filled with trials and triumphs meant to shape our spirit.

We chose Amor Vida as our production name because it represents a sacred vow: to create with intention, to see God in every story we tell, and to let His love guide every word, action, and dream we bring to life. It is more than just a name—it reflects our calling to live fully, love endlessly, and trust deeply in the divine purpose behind our mission. Through Amor Vida, we commit to sowing meaning, truth, and light into every work we produce, all rooted in God’s boundless love.

During the Kapihan sa Manila Hotel, they asked how we can solve unemployment and underemployment?

My answer was simple: Lifelong learning, and constant upskilling and reskilling. Now TESDA, DepEd, and CHED are working together to make this even more seamless because today and in the future, skills are the real currency.
