No matter how long the holiday can be, DCE vibes never die in veins. Ladies and gentlemen, in a shocking twist that no one saw it coming, the Entertainment Directorate has unleashed the official poster for the most awaited next semester’s Social Weekend.

The poster has the epic vibes event planned to start on 11th till the dawn of 13th October. The mentioned artists have already caused mass excitement. Some students have reportedly screamed, others have cried, and a few are still trying to figure out what a weekend it is.

Meanwhile, the DCE Team Loving things appreciates the Entertainment Directorate. "So long as Honde and Nash are involved, we hope the vibes are at home." Said one of the members of Team Loving Things who chose not to be named. In additional to that, the team also has a belief that despite the upcoming social weekend, Ng'oma which aims at receiving first year students is also set.

So mark your calendars because Onesimus, Gibo Lantos and Lyvwa-Mabongwe are coming, and are already living rent-free among the DCE students' brains.

HESLGB Releases 2025/2026 Provisional Loan List for Domasi College of Education

Domasi, Malawi – 15 August 2025

The Higher Education Students’ Loans and Grants Board (HESLGB) has released the 2025/2026 provisional loan list for Domasi College of Education (DCE). The board received a total of 2,204 loan applications from the institution, with 2,072 applicants meeting the eligibility criteria.

The list, published on 15 August 2025, includes successful students who will be subjected to the vetting and bonding process jointly conducted by HESLGB and the college administration, and other stakeholders. The board has since appealed to stakeholders, students, and the public to help identify cases where non-needy students may have been included in order to ensure the loans reach truly deserving beneficiaries.

Names of the approved beneficiaries can be accessed at the offices of Registrars or Deans/Directors of Students Affairs in respective higher education institutions, as well as on the HESLGB website (www.heslgb.mw). Higher Education

Meanwhile, HESLGB has opened a 2 week period for applicants who have been rejected but feel unsatisfied to appeal from 18th to 29th August 2025. The Board has directed that such appeals should be submitted through Student Finance Management Information System ( SFMIS - Sfmis.heslgb.mw).

Thank You for 15,000 Followers

We want to thank everyone for reaching 15,000 followers on this page.

Special credit goes to Mr. Charles Simbeye, the former Speaker of the General Assembly in the SRC for the 2022/2023 term, for proposing the idea of creating this page and WhatsApp group. We also thank Mr. Fellahz Madise, the former PID for 2022/2023 and the former Writers Club President for 2024/2025, Mr. Tikumbuke Humphreys Harare, the former Writers Club President for 2022/2024, and Mr. Godfrey Malunga Caghoma, the current president of the Writers Club.

In December 2022, after returning from SRC handovers in Mulanje, Simbeye, who was part of the Writers Club Executive Committee, shared his idea with Madise; "Fellahz, I think we should create a page and a WhatsApp group to share news, arts, entertainment, student welfare and updates about DCE just like other colleges have their student-run pages."

After considering the idea, Madise passed it on to the then Writers Club President, Tikumbuke Harare, who welcomed it with enthusiasm. A few days later, Harare created this page and Simbeye set up the WhatsApp group.

Today, we celebrate having 15,000 followers in nearly three years, providing informative, educational and entertaining content for DCE students and the community.

Thank you, Simbeye, for this wonderful idea. You deserve recognition while you are still alive. Thanks to Madise and Harare for embracing the idea and to our current president Caghoma, keep up the great work with the page and the Writers Club.

To our followers, we say Merci, Tatenda, Asante, Obrigado, Thank you, Ngiyabonga, Dankie, Zikomo.

Some of the outgoing finales proudly sent the following message to the DCE Students community, earlier in the morning today: "While Yaza akusuta mphepo kwawo, Finale ali busy kusuta tea waboma."

The picture below shows two former SRC members. On the other hand, the current SRC PID is also behind the Camera to represent his team. Meanwhile, it has been reported that majority of the 700 outgoing first year students are done with their referral exams.

If you see any DCE News Updates reporter around the campus, know that s/he is their just to report and nothing else!!!
