FINANCIAL HURDLES DELAY ART-CLIMATE CHALLENGE RESULTS
Almost a year after its launch, the Art-Climate Challenge Competition remains incomplete, with its results yet to be released due to financial setbacks.
In an interview with Colonels Media, the competition’s organizer, Ms. Florence Aariyah John, who also serves as Miss UNIMA, confirmed that financial constraints have hindered progress.
"At this time, I prefer not to comment on the thing, as I don’t want to replicate the sentiments of others involved. Once the issues are resolved, I maybe explain, particularly regarding the funding aspects", she explained.
Meanwhile, one of the contestants, who asked for anonymity, voiced frustration over the delay, questioning the organizers’ preparedness.
"I spent much time to submit my work and not for the prize but to voice out my views on climate change so I think they were at hurry bringing the initiative while having not sourced the funds", he said.
Launched in November 2024, the competition was designed to encourage students to use various artistic works such as drama, music, poetry, and short stories to raise an awareness on climate change.
