Meet Pondani Thamangisa, an 81-year-old from Phalombe, T/A Kaledzera, Village Chikomola — a story that touches the heart and inspires the soul.
Pondani once belonged to the CCAP church, but in the later years of his life, he made a powerful and courageous decision: he embraced Islam. Despite his age, he did not hold back. Instead, he dedicated himself to learning — spending one full month studying the basics of Islam.
What makes his story truly remarkable is his determination. At 81, he learned how to perform Swalah and understands many important teachings of a Muslim. This shows that it is never too late to seek the truth and follow the right path.
Life has not been easy for him. He lives alone and provides everything for himself. After accepting Islam, some people mocked him, saying he is too old and that such changes are for the young. But Pondani did not give up. He remained strong, focused, and firm in his faith.
He is a man of great courage and resilience.
