The DCU fails with its second project: Just four weeks after its release, is already on digital platforms and practically out of theaters.
It has only grossed $124 million, less than , , and , and light years away from the box office numbers of , , , , , , , , and , and even from the $440 million of or the $360 million of .
For those who say the universe is just getting started, we need to remember the box office numbers of ($450 million), ($585 million), and ($370 million). And for those who use the "fatigue" argument, this very weekend debuts with $800 million. Okay, it's true the character is much more popular, but the gap shouldn't be so vast. Furthermore, some choose to forget that we've been told for years that the DCU has won everyone over, that Corenswet is very popular as Superman (he appears four times in the film), etc., and conveniently forget that Kara appeared in the post-credits scene of that movie.
Okay, so the film and the character aren't for the general public, they say it's niche, but then why did the opening weekend gross only $60 million worldwide? Aren't all DC fans supposed to have fallen in love with it and wholeheartedly support the DCU?
