🌕🔴 March 3, 2026 — Total Lunar Eclipse (Blood Moon)

On March 3, 2026, the Moon will pass fully into Earth’s shadow, creating a spectacular total lunar eclipse — the stunning “Blood Moon.” Totality runs from 6:04 AM to 7:05 AM EST, with the greatest eclipse at 6:34 AM, while the full event spans from 4:35 AM to 7:43 AM EST.

The eclipse will be visible in its entirety from western North America, Oceania, and much of Asia. During totality, Earth blocks direct sunlight, but our atmosphere bends red and orange light onto the Moon, giving it that deep crimson glow. Completely safe to watch with the naked eye, this is one of the most beautiful night-sky events of the year. 🌌

NGC 1333, popularly known as the Embryo Nebula, is one of the closest active star-forming regions to Earth.
It is a reflection nebula located in the constellation Perseus at a distance of approximately 1,000 light-years.
It has a diameter of about 15 light-years.
It is home to hundreds of young stars less than a million years old, many of which are still hidden by dense stellar dust.
It features intense jets of red gas (Herbig-Haro objects) emanating from the newborn stars and colliding with the surrounding gas.
It contains a cluster of about 150 stars divided into two distinct subgroups (north and south).
Scientists believe that the chaotic environment of NGC 1333 is similar to the environment where our own Sun was born 4.5 billion years ago.

The CG4 nebula, also known as the "Hand of God" or "Jaws of the Beast," is a cometary globule located in the constellation Puppis, about 1.300 light-years from Earth. This cloud of dust and gas is an active star-forming region with a peculiar comet-like shape, with a dense head 1.5 light-years across and a long tail about 8 light-years long.
Although it resembles a comet, it is an immensely larger object, a cloud of interstellar dust rich in material for forming new stars.
The "head" is bright and gaseous, while the tail is long and faint, giving it a menacing or hand-like appearance.
The characteristic shape could be due to erosion caused by radiation from nearby hot stars or be the remnant of a spherical nebula that was destroyed.
Despite appearing bright in images, it is a faint object and difficult to observe.
