A year ago, I joined the Alberta Union of Provincial Employees as a multimedia technician, and I'm celebrating this milestone by sharing insights from one of my favorite projects.

I'm grateful to be part of the communications team at Western Canada's largest union, where I've been doing what I love most—creating and art directing motion design content.

As a highlight of this year full of learning and growth, I created a case study to share the process behind the Direct Action video series—a sequence of videos that brings together real-world case studies, key concepts, and actionable information that AUPE members can easily access and reference.

This project is meaningful to me because it helped me see my capacity to help organizations as significant as AUPE complete communication pieces from start to finish, getting involved in every part of the creation process.

I'll be sharing more posts about the takeaways from this year of learning on LinkedIn.

🎨 Just returned from an incredible journey that marked many firsts in my life - my first trip to Europe, my first time at DEMO FESTIVAL in Amsterdam, and my first in-person motion design event. And what a journey it was!

I still remember when I got selected for DEMO FESTIVAL 2023. Though I couldn't make it then, I made a promise to myself: if I ever got selected again, I would be there. Fast forward to 2025, and here I am, living that promise!

Walking through Netherland's streets was like stepping into a living canvas. Every corner breathes design, art, and architecture. It's truly a city that speaks the language of creativity fluently.

What struck me most wasn't just the amazing work being showcased (though that was mind-blowing!), but the beautiful simplicity trend emerging in motion design. We're seeing a return to the fundamentals of communication, proving that sometimes less truly is more.

The real magic? Meeting talented creators from around the globe. Those conversations and connections are absolutely priceless. 🌍✨

While I'm thrilled that part of the collection will be displayed in Vancouver (just a quick 45-minute flight from home!), experiencing it in Amsterdam was something else entirely.

Huge thanks to STUDIO DUMBAR/DEPT for orchestrating this incredible festival. Here's to more creative adventures ahead! 🚀

The future of AI

I’ve never considered myself as an illustrator. However, leveraging toon shaders has helped to fill that gap in my creative soul. The process of conceptualizing an idea in a single frame is quite challenging, yet enjoyable.

I’ve chosen a subject that I like to call ‘Corporate-SciFi’. Anything that falls within this spectrum of concepts definitely pulls my attention, interest, and energy.

Lo más importante para mi de esta solución es evitar salir del programa, tener que ir al editor de imágenes, cambiar tu retícula, salvar, regresar a la textura y blah blah blah blah blah blah
Evitando brincar entre programas, la dirección de arte es muchísimo más rápida.
