Calaveritas Literarias (or “Little Literary Skulls”) are a beloved Mexican tradition full of wit, humor, and creativity that’s part of the Day of the Dead celebration. ✍️

These short, rhyming poems playfully talk about death, imagining funny or ironic situations where “La Catrina” — Death herself — comes to take someone away… but always with humor! 😄

Even though they mention death, Calaveritas are actually a celebration of life, reminding us that in Mexico, not even death can take away our sense of humor. 🇲🇽✨
