Starkiller to Join Ahsoka Season 2 as The Son
San Diego, CA — July 24, 2025 According to reports from San Diego Comic-Con, the upcoming season of "Ahsoka" aims to delve deeper into the cosmic Force mythology established in "Star Wars: The Clone Wars" and "Star Wars Rebels", with a potential twist: the introduction of Starkiller, Darth Vader's former apprentice from the "Star Wars: The Force Unleashed" video games, into current canon. This development aligns with remarks made by Dave Filoni at Star Wars Celebration earlier this year, hinting at the incorporation of the character The Son into the storyline.
The first season of "Ahsoka" concluded with visual cues suggesting Ahsoka Tano is poised to embrace the mantle of The Daughter, one of the celestial Mortis Gods embodying the light side of the Force. These entities, including The Father (representing balance), The Son (the dark side), and The Daughter, were initially explored in "The Clone Wars". The season finale featured statues of these deities, further solidifying the theory that the Mortis arc will continue to influence the show.
Anakin's Legacy: A Celestial Reunion
The evolving theory suggests a compelling parallel: Anakin Skywalker, formerly Darth Vader, could assume the role of The Father, overseeing his two apprentices, Ahsoka and Starkiller, who embody the light and dark sides, respectively. This would create a unique dynamic, fulfilling their destinies within the Force's legacy.
Dave Filoni is known for integrating elements from the Star Wars Legends continuity into the current canon. A subtle nod to Starkiller appeared in "Andor", where his armor was visible in Luthen Rael's shop, potentially foreshadowing the character's canon debut.
Sam Witwer to Play Starkiller
The biggest buzz surrounds the potential casting of Sam Witwer, known for voicing Starkiller in "The Force Unleashed", in the role for "Ahsoka" Season 2. While Witwer initially downplayed his involvement in "Ahsoka", he has been credited with providing the voice of The Son in the first season. Some fans initially speculated Witwer might have been playing the character Marrok in season 1, but this theory was ultimately proven untrue.
Season 2 Plot Hints
Details about "Ahsoka" Season 2 are scarce, but Filoni has revealed that the first half of the season will feature a major war. Hayden Christensen is also confirmed to return as Anakin Skywalker. These are speculated to be flashbacks to The Clone Wars. A first look photo of Ezra Bridger’s new costume has also been released. Filming for the season began in April 2025, with eight episodes planned.
With these developments, "Ahsoka" Season 2 promises to be a pivotal moment in the Star Wars universe, potentially bridging narratives from different eras and exploring the deeper mysteries of the Force.
