Ten years have come and gone, sweet girl,
Yet your light still paints the sky.
Your smile — a New Mexico sunrise —
Still warms the hearts that cry.

A child so full of laughter, grace,
With eyes that sparkled bright,
You left this world too soon, dear Lilly,
But your love became our fight.

From one act of senseless anger,
Came a movement, strong and wide,
A call for peace upon our roads,
With you, our angel, as the guide.

New Mexico remembers you —
Her cherished little one,
Whose gentle heart now beats above,
In rays of desert sun.

Your mom, your dad, your brother too,
Keep your memory shining clear,
Through every law, each word they speak,
They make sure you stay near.

They carry you through every cause,
Through every tear and change,
Transforming grief into your voice,
So no life ends the same.

Grayson County Criminal District Attorney John Kermit Hill announces that on October 8, 2025, a Grayson County Grand Jury indicted Cory Todd Foster of Denison, Texas, for Manslaughter in connection with the death of Katie Palmer on or about April 22, 2020.

John Kermit Hill says, "I reviewed the file and determined that justice required further investigation and preparation of the case for appropriate prosecution. Today, a Grayson County Grand Jury concluded there is probable cause that Foster recklessly caused the death of Katie Palmer."

It is important to note that an indictment is a formal charging instrument and should not be considered as evidence of guilt, and that all persons charged with a crime are presumed innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
