This week, I was officially credited for my second television series of 2022. After taking a year off to serve in the Army (in 2020), I was determined to make a change not only for myself but for my family and team.
I went back to school UMKC to earn a Bachelors of Business Administration (BBA) degree in finance and devised plans to diversify my investments to create new sources of income.
While maintaining a course load of 17 credits per semester (with a 4.0 GPA), participating in Army ROTC, attending regular Army drill weekends, maintaining a relationship with Buell, and having some semblance of a social life, I worked more than full-time to manage four different service lines for two businesses in two separate industries. The sheer effort required to balance everything is worth it when small victories like being credited on the biggest project in recent years in Kansas City, "The Last of Us" on HBO Max, are achieved.
I'm not much of a video game player today but I grew up with a PlayStation, and from this experience I could see how working on a project with DNEG,for Naughty Dog, LLC, would be an amazing opportunity.
Robert Fanning of CVP Productions took advice from Ty Jones to bring me on to take on this project. With the requirement being that we needed to access 20 locations some of which were on the roofs of state and federal buildings, I knew I had my work cut out for me.
However, with the help of KC Film and the wonderful Stephanie Shannon I was able to obtain contacts for some of our more difficult locations.
With how 2022 unfolded and 2023 starting off even stronger I'm excited to see how the next few years will transpire knowing that I have amazing people around me everyday who support what I do regardless of my minor mistakes along the way.
Have a great rest of your week, and GO CHIEFS!!!
