Vireo de Cozumel/ Cozumel Vireo (Vireo bairdi)

Habita solo en la isla de Cozumel en México, donde no existe ningún ave similar. No es común, y su población ha disminuido por boas constrictor no –nativas liberadas en la isla.
Se identifica fácil por su cara tierna y la mancha blanca entre los ojos y el pico; barras blancas en las alas; y sus tonos únicos en las plumas ladrillo rosa. Sus sonidos son similares al de Mangrove Vireo del continente.

Actualmente los 22 psitácidos que habitan en México se encuentran bajo algún grado de amenaza.
Su carisma los ha hecho populares como mascotas, lo que ha originado que se extraigan individuos de su hábitat natural y haya disminuído la distribución natural de las especies de psitácidos.
