On a bright Saturday morning, the racy buzz of twin-turbocharged V8s of McLarens heralded the third edition of the annual McLaren Owner’s Community Malaysia (MOCM) track day. For the 24 members and their partners who participated in this, the day started early at the Petron station where they received a full tank of Petron Blaze 100, Malaysia's first 100 octane premium-grade gasoline. With Blaze 100, the performance benefits include heightened engine cleaning and engine responsiveness, corrosion protection and is enviro-clean as it meets the Euro 4M specifications on sulphur and benzene.

Following the refuel, the McLarens made a dash to the Sepang International Circuit for breakfast and then a briefing by MOCM’s very own Mark Chew, a seasoned track competitor. Following the customary parade around the circuit, participants were redlining their vehicles in a hotly contested field for best lap time, with prizes by various official partners of the McLaren Formula 1 Team up for grabs.

A special appearance by track superstar and professional drifter Leona Chin in the McLaren Senna – a limited production track-focused road car – also added plenty of automotive frisson to the day. Chin would go on to offer many of the participants and their partners white-knuckled taxi rides around the track. Across the day, participants also enjoyed a pick me up in the form of fresh coffee courtesy of Swiss coffee machine maker Jura, serving up fine high-pressure-brewed coffee, espressos, cappuccinos and lattes.

In the final reckoning, the winners were announced with incredibly close times. Winning the second half of the time challenge was Lim Boon Wai who walked away with a half scale replica of Lando Norris’ racing helmet for team McLaren Racing courtesy of TC Acoustic, while the winner for the top portion of the draw was Calvin Tan who walked away with the Bowers & Wilkins Px7 S2e headphones in a ruby red colourway valued at RM2,399. Other prizes included a host of hotel stays across key Hilton properties across Malaysia including Kuching, Kota Kinabalu, Kuala Lumpur, Petaling Jaya and DoubleTree by Hilton in Johor Bahru.

There was time yet for all the participants that day to enjoy a walk through the Malaysia Auto & Lifestyle Festival (MALF) setup which also attracted a number of Malaysia speed legends; from Zen Low and Karamjit Singh to Tengku Djan Ley and Akash Nandy. Later that day, the MALF also achieved a Malaysian Book of Records for having the largest sports and classic cars gathering on the Sepang International Circuit with a grand total of 1,000.

The Exchange TRX now offers an indulgence beyond retail therapy and gourmet meals. Tucked in a quiet enclave on Level 1 of the mall lies the new Premium Lounge, a private sanctuary—synonymous with first-class and business-class lounges in airports—reserved for Inspirer and Visionary members to escape the crowds and enjoy a moment of peace.

Upon entry, there’s a beautiful walkway that leads to the main area with individual nooks along the way. In the main area, there is an immediate shift in pace. Time seems to slow, and the noises of the outside world fade away. Here, a dedicated Vision Lounge is reserved for Visionary members only— a haven within an already secluded sanctuary—separated by a hidden sliding partition, offering enhanced exclusivity and one-on-one services.

Jacob & Co. has a dizzying array of unique, highly complicated timepieces in its line-up—minute repeaters, multi-axis tourbillons two at a time, automata—but the Astronomia has been one of its more consistent signatures. Unveiled at Baselworld in 2014, it is a lavish display of technicality; its four-armed movement sees normally static elements, like subdial indicators and escapements, sent in permanent orbit around the dial, like a miniature planetarium on the wrist.

The Astronomia is now an expansive collection on its own and even more technically accomplished, thanks to various iterations over time. The brand as a whole is even better established as a purveyor of extremely ambitious complications. Bahman Tagharrobi, lead watchmaker and instructor for Jacob & Co.—who has been with the brand since 2017—explains that its bold direction comes straight from the top.

“Jacob himself—that’s the biggest part,” he says, referring to Jacob Arabo, who founded the brand in 1986. “Watchmakers—and, well, I’m also talking about myself—we see a watch from a different perspective. Jacob is a collector, and he sees himself always wearing a watch. On the other hand, the watchmakers see the making of the watch—but not on the wrist. We’re making the art piece, or the complication. But Jacob, from the very beginning, sees a timepiece on his wrist, or for his friends.”

The four seasons have inspired our lives in more ways than one—whether through fashion trends or interior choices. This year, the Italian luxury home label Poltrona Frau draws inspiration from that familiar theme to introduce The Five Seasons collection.

Rather than following the traditional four, the fifth season is one open to interpretation—meant to be defined by you. If you’re drawn to the warmth of autumnal hues with the cool minimalism of winter, or think spring blossoms and dark earthy depth make a good combination, embraces this freedom of expression.

Get ready to see a Prancing Horse on the high seas.

Ferrari is building a high-tech sailing yacht for ocean racing, according to a statement shared recently. The new Ferrari Hypersail will also be the first 100-foot yacht in the world to be entirely energy self-sufficient, according to Ferrari.

“Designing a yacht for offshore racing is perhaps the ultimate expression of endurance,” said Ferrari chairman John Elkann.

Otto Aviation recently had a big announcement in the City of Light. If the brand can make its proposed new record stick, its Phantom 3500 business jet would achieve net-zero carbon emissions about two decades before the rest of the industry.

The startup says the business jet will fulfil these descriptors by using a laminar-flow design that smooths airflow over its raked wings and fuselage, thereby reducing drag.

The aircraft also does away with conventional windows and instead uses high-definition digital displays Otto calls “Super Natural Vision.” An introductory video shows views of the sky overhead and landscape along the sides of the aircraft via the screens. The 3500 will be powered by two Williams FJ44 turbofan engines mounted at the rear of the fuselage.

Is your wearing Cartier? Do you have one (or more) hanging from your ? If not, you’re missing out on one of the luxury world’s biggest trends.

Labubu, a plush toy monster, has become an inexplicable viral sensation. The diminutive creature, created by Hong Kong-based artist Kasing Lung, resembles a funkier version of Maurice Sendak’s characters from Where the Wild Things Are, and has been likened to everything from Furbies to wild-eyed, sharp-toothed Beanie Babies.

While Lung designed the toys in 2015, they didn’t gain popularity until 2018, when the Labubu became part of Chinese toy purveyor POP MART’s blind box lineup. The sales strategy meant customers could buy the toys, but wouldn’t know which Labubu they’d gotten until after the transaction. These surprise sales have helped the toy gain a mythical cult following: In the last year, Pop Mart’s market valuation has climbed to US$38 billion, more than Barbie-maker Mattel, Nerf-seller Hasbro, and Hello Kitty-owner Sanrio combined.

But what’s more shocking than Labubu’s financial success is its transformation into a must-have accessory for the Hermès-collector set.
