在亚庇街头寻一碗好吃的擂茶饭并非易事,而这家隐于市井的老摊,却是城中少有的坚持。白瓷碗里,翠绿的擂茶糊裹着糙米饭,薄荷、九层塔的清香扑鼻,配上豆腐干、菜脯和花生,一勺下去,满口生津。

他家擂茶经营逾十余载,擂茶沿用客家古法研磨,茶汤浓淡恰到好处,既去了苦腥,又留了药草的甘润。常客多是附近老街坊,九令吉出头便能饱腹,价格多年未大涨。"现代人吃太多油腻啦,"老板娘边舀汤边笑,"这碗饭清肠胃,比吃药强。"

午前十一时,摊前总排着穿校服的学生和西装笔挺的上班族——在这快餐当道的年代,能守着传统又惠民的滋味,大约便是城市最温柔的倔强。😁🍀🪵

Finding a delicious bowl of Lei Cha rice on the streets of Kota Kinabalu is no easy task, yet this humble old stall, tucked away in the city's alleys, remains one of the few places still holding onto tradition. In a white porcelain bowl, vibrant green herbal paste coats nutty brown rice, with the refreshing aroma of mint and basil wafting up. Paired with dried tofu, preserved radish, and peanuts, each spoonful bursts with flavor, leaving the mouth watering.

Their Lei Cha has been served for over a decade, ground using traditional Hakka methods. The herbal broth strikes the perfect balance—strong enough to eliminate bitterness and fishiness, yet mild enough to preserve the sweet, herbal aftertaste. Regulars are mostly longtime residents from the nearby old neighborhood, and a satisfying meal costs just over nine ringgit, a price that hasn’t risen much over the years. "People these days eat too much greasy food," the owner says with a laugh as she ladles the broth. "This bowl cleanses the stomach—better than medicine."

By 11 a.m., the stall is always lined with students in uniforms and office workers in crisp suits. In an era dominated by fast food, the ability to preserve a traditional, affordable, and wholesome flavor is perhaps the city’s most tender act of defiance. 😁🍀🪵
