Kelantan Batik Challenge conceived for the rebirth of a heritage close to Kelantan batik. This competition aims to revive and rejuvenate the batik industry in Kelantan. This project was initiated by YM Tengku Puan Temenggong Kelantan, Tunku Dato’ Hajjah Noor Hayati binti Tunku Abdul Rahman Al-Haj in hopes of reviving the Batik enterprise in Kelantan, an art that strongly identifies itself with Kel

antan and the Kelantanese people. In recent times, we have seen the deteriorating interest in the production of Kelantan batik. However, with this project, we aim to strengthen the presence of batik in every Malaysian’s everyday lives in the 21st century. This competition intends to recognise and provide a platform for creative minds. It invites designers, young and old, to express their creativity through their individual and unique batik designs. With this effort, YANAS’s driven enthusiasm and passion is centred upon revival of the Kelantan batik industry. This comes with strong hopes of gathering the youthful, talented, and creative minds to reintroduce Kelantanese batik to the whole world.
