🐷 How to Increase Productivity on Pig Farm

Pig farming success is not about working harder, but working smarter — especially in our hot & humid weather.

✅ Control heat stress
Feed early morning & late evening. Good airflow, fans, and wet floors help pigs eat more and grow faster.

✅ Use local feed wisely
Rice bran, cassava, coconut cake, brewery waste & veggie waste can reduce cost — but don’t exceed 20–30% and keep nutrition balanced.

✅ Clean water is a must
Hot climate = more water needed. Dirty or blocked drinkers slow growth.

✅ Reduce piglet loss
Dry & warm farrowing area, colostrum in first 6 hours, iron injection. Every piglet saved = extra profit.

✅ Good housing design
Dry floor, good drainage, high roof, proper space. Muddy pens = disease & slow growth.

✅ Health & biosecurity
Regular deworming, isolate sick pigs early, limit visitors.

✅ Keep simple records
Feed used, deaths, medicine cost, sale weight. What you don’t record, you can’t improve.
