5 friends, 3 days, and Indonesia’s biggest outdoor expo! We packed our bags and flew from KLIA2 to Soekarno-Hatta (CGK) for an action-packed weekend in Jakarta centered around Indofest 2026.

From hunting down the best gear at the Jakarta Convention Center to diving headfirst into the city's legendary food and coffee scene, this is how we conquered Jakarta in a weekend.

HIGHLIGHTS
Basecamp Benhil: We stayed and explored the vibrant area surrounding the Batavia Hotel & Serviced Apartments in Bendungan Hilir. Excellent location with solid street food vibes.

Payakumbuah Resto: You can't visit Jakarta without a proper feast. Dinner at Arief Muhammad’s famous Padang restaurant absolutely lived up to the hype! Yes, we paid the bill :P

Indofest 2026: The main event. We walked over to the Jakarta Convention Center (JCC) to check out the absolute best of local and international outdoor, camping, and adventure gear.

Blok M Coffee: Found a sweet spot in the trendy Blok M district to unwind and recharge with some top-tier Indonesian coffee at Filosofi Kopi after a massive day of walking.

P*K (Pantai Indah Kapuk): Caught some morning coastal views on our final day before heading to the airport for one last epic lunch before boarding back to KL.

When life throws a winch-line into your weekend plans, lock the hubs, and keep chargin'.

Originally, the Malaysian 4Wheelers (M4W) crew planned a cool, misty family getaway up to Campsite Lemoi in the Highlands. We were all looking forward to that crisp mountain air, but unexpected, unforeseen circumstances meant we had to adjust our course. But as any seasoned overlander knows, a true adventure isn't just about the coordinates on your GPS: it’s about the people sharing the adventure with you too.

With a quick shift in strategy, Plan B was deployed, and the convoy re-routed to the beautiful Campsite Pulau in Tanjung Malim.

The journey in gave us a sweet taste of adventure. Some light ofroad trek featuring a rocky river crossing that set the perfect tone for a 3 days, 2 nights escape from the daily grind. This retreat proved once and for all that the M4W crew is one big family as no matter the destination, everyone showed up, stepped up, and gave support..

Trip Highlights & Channel Milestones:
- A Massive Surprise! To my absolute delight, we crossed paths with two awesome subscribers to the channel in person right there at the campsite! Meeting you guys out in the wild was incredible! thank you so much for the support!

- It turns out the community is even tighter than we thought. One of the M4W crew members and trip participants runs their own YouTube channel! We teamed up and shot some fantastic content together, so stay tuned for that.

- The Ultimate Chill: Complete relaxation and "healing" in the deep woods, surrounded by the constant, soothing soundtrack of the rushing river.

- Back-to-back BBQ nights with incredible food and even better company under the stars.

- Arcane Adventures Sharing Session: I was incredibly honoured to be invited to host a special knowledge-sharing session for the crew on "Knife Use & Care" covering the essentials of handling, safety, and keeping your blades camp-ready.

- Camp games that kept the kids laughing and brought out the inner child in the adults.

From the youngest toddlers to the veteran crew members, evryone found their peace and pace on this trip. It just goes to show that when you're with the right crowd, a backup plan can easily become the main event.

The Legends Gather: Asia Offroad Expo & Convention (AOX) 2026 Launch

A historic day for the Malaysian 4x4 community! Arcane Adventures, alongside Malaysian 4 Wheelers (M4W), was honoured to be invited to the official launching and officiating ceremony of the Asia Offroad Expo & Convention (AOX) 2026.

This wasn't just a ceremony. No sir, it was a gathering of the "Who’s Who" in the off-roading world. We shared the floor with true living legends of the Malaysian 4x4 scene- the individuals who paved the way for the rigs and trails we love today.

Event Highlights:
Official Launch: Officiated by the YB Deputy Minister of MOTAC, signalling a massive year ahead for adventure tourism in Malaysia.

Industry Heavyweights: Proudly supported by MOTAC, WTC KL, MIROS, and MiEGS, alongside the biggest industry players in the region. We met the strong man & woman behind The Malayan Xpedition, Borneo Safari, and even the Co-Founder of Rainforest Challenge.

Exclusive Access: We sat down for a quick chat with the legend himself, Thomas Foo, to get his insights on what makes AOX 2026 a must-attend event.
