Himalayan Adventure – Day 1 is LIVE!

Srinagar to Kargil via the mighty Zojila Pass (3,580m) – 240km of raw beauty, shifting landscapes, and pure emotion. From the lush green valleys of Kashmir to the rugged, snow-capped peaks of Ladakh, this was the ride that set the tone for everything that followed.

Tunnel rides, gravel climbs, glacial streams, and views that left me speechless.
This trip means the world to me — and I’m stoked to finally share it with you.

The ride of a lifetime – complete!

9 days. Over 1800 km. Back-to-back riding through some of the most challenging and beautiful terrain on Earth. From Srinagar to Manali, we traversed high mountain passes, remote valleys, rain, blazing sun, and icy winds.

We conquered:
🏔️ Khardung La – once the highest motorable pass at 5,359m
🏔️ Fotu La – the highest point on the Srinagar-Leh highway at 4,108m
🏔️ Umling La – the current highest motorable road in the world at a jaw-dropping 5,798m
🏔️ Tanglang La, Baralacha La, and more…

We passed through surreal landscapes – Nubra Valley, Pangong Lake, Hanle, Tso Moriri, Sarchu, and beyond.

And nature didn’t hold back – we encountered yaks, marmots, wild horses, kiangs (Tibetan wild donkeys) and vast open skies that made us feel tiny yet alive.

It was tough, raw, and real – a dream come true.
Forever grateful to those who made this journey smoother:

🙏 LONE RIDER - Adventure Motorcycle Equipment for the rock-solid luggage system

🙏 for keeping me warm when the temps plummeted

🙏 Chigee Global for the tech that made navigating these wild roads a breeze

This isn’t just a ride – it’s a memory etched in soul. Until next time… 🙏🏽

Welcome to Lamayuru – the Moonland of Ladakh

Riding into Lamayuru felt like landing on another planet. The surreal, cratered landscape looks otherworldly, earning it the name “Moonland” due to its resemblance to the lunar surface. No filters needed — it’s truly nature’s artwork carved by wind, water, and time .

Located at around 3,510 metres (11,516 ft), Lamayuru sits along the Leh–Srinagar highway, between Fotula and Kargil. The ride in was breathtaking, and the stillness of this place hits differently — peaceful, raw, and deeply spiritual.

This village is also home to Lamayuru Monastery, one of the oldest and most revered monasteries in Ladakh, dating back to the 11th century. You can feel the centuries of history and culture in the air.

If the Himalayas are a dreamland, Lamayuru is its most surreal chapter.

Crossed Fotula Pass — the highest point on the Srinagar-Leh highway (NH1) at an elevation of 4,108 metres (13,478 ft)!

Though not as towering as Khardung La or Umling La, Fotula has its own charm. Surrounded by stark mountain landscapes and dramatic skies, it felt like riding through another planet

This pass lies between Lamayuru and Kargil, and is a crucial stretch on the Leh–Srinagar route. With rapidly changing weather, winding roads, and epic views at every corner — it’s a must-ride for every motorcyclist exploring Ladakh.

What a surreal feeling being this high up — and still pushing forward on this Himalayan adventure. One pass at a time, one dream after another.

Made it to Khardung La Pass — one of the most iconic high-altitude motorable passes in the world, standing tall at 5,359 metres (17,582 ft)!

Once considered the highest motorable road, Khardung La still holds legendary status among adventurers and bikers worldwide. The ride up was cold, windy, and demanding — but the views, the vibes, and that feeling of reaching the top… absolutely worth it

Located near Leh in Ladakh, this pass connects the Indus Valley to the Nubra and Shyok Valleys — playing a crucial role in both civilian and military logistics. Built and maintained by the incredible Border Roads Organisation (BRO), this route has long been a rite of passage for every serious rider in the Himalayas.

Riding here was a dream I’ve held onto for years. Today, I ticked it off.

You are now higher than Everest Base Camp" — and that blew my mind!

At this point, I was riding at an altitude of over 5,364 metres, which is higher than the South Base Camp of Mount Everest in Nepal (which sits at 5,364m). The air was thin, my pulse was racing, and every breath reminded me how far I’d come — both in distance and in determination.

This stretch is just a few kilometres before reaching Umling La Pass (5,798m) — officially the highest motorable road in the world .
It’s insane to think that BRO has built a road at an altitude where oxygen levels are 50% lower than sea level. Massive respect 🙏🏽

This isn’t just a ride — it’s a journey of willpower, grit, and passion.
If you ever needed a reminder that dreams are worth chasing… this is it.

I made it to Umling La Pass — the highest motorable road in the world, sitting at a staggering 5,798 metres (19,024 ft) above sea level!

This has been a long-standing dream and took over a year of planning. Riding up here wasn’t easy — the thin air, bone-chilling winds, and remote terrain tested both machine and mind. But the views, the feeling… absolutely surreal.

Located in Eastern Ladakh, Umling-La connects Chisumle and Demchok near the Indo-China border, and was built by the Border Roads Organisation (BRO). Hats off to their incredible engineering and perseverance.

Feeling on top of the world — quite literally!
