Today was a bittersweet farewell as I dropped off 'Rhino,' my R1250 GS Adventure, at Doncaster BMW Motorrad. It’s been an incredible journey covering over 12,000 kilometres across Victoria, and while it’s tough to say goodbye, I’m excited for the new adventures with the R1300 GS Trophy.

A huge thank you to Ross Craig, and John Towelll at Doncaster BMW Motorrad for their outstanding service and the fantastic deal on the new bike. Here’s to new journeys and more memories!

What a ride!
Kicked off from Doncaster BMW Motorrad and wound our way through Templestowe, Warrandyte, Lilydale, Emerald, and Gembrook (with a well-earned ☕ stop), before heading down through Beaconsfield and Nepean Highway to finish at Brighton BMW Mentone.
A solid 120 km of twisty backroads, smooth highways, and great company — the perfect way to celebrate the BMW Motorrad MY25 Showcase Ride.

Exciting day at the BMW Motorrad MY25 Showcase!

Had the chance to check out the full 2025 lineup — including the R12 G/S, R1300R, R1300RS, R1300RT, R1300GS, and GSA — all in one place!

It was great hearing from Steve Dunn, General Manager of BMW Motorrad Australia, who shared some exciting insights into what’s coming next for the brand.

Back to Mount Disappointment 🏔️ — and this one’s personal.

This 96 km solo loop (Old Sydney Rd → Wandong → Mount Disappointment → Blairs Hut → Old Epping Rd) marks my first return since the accident that fractured my spine last year. Riding back here on the same bike — Rhino, my R1250 GSA — felt like closing a chapter.

Solo adventure ride on the Rhino 🦏 — a 96km loop through Old Sydney Road, Wandong, and up into Mount Disappointment. Bright skies, gravel, tarmac, and a good stretch of dirt — couldn’t have asked for better conditions.

This spot is special for me. Just last year I had my accident here and fractured my spine. Coming back on the same bike feels like closing a loop — we’re both back, stronger than before.

New Video Drop!

I’ve just installed a custom 3D-printed front grill on my BMW R1250GSA to mount the Chigee AIO-6 front camera—and the result looks like it rolled straight out of the factory.

This step-by-step video also covers fitting a Unifilter pre-filter while the fairings were off, so it’s two upgrades in one. Huge thanks to Joost from the Netherlands for designing this brilliant piece—his work is next-level!

After paying our respects at the Rezang La War Memorial, we hit the dirt tracks toward Tsaga for lunch—surrounded by rugged border landscapes and views of the Chinese line of control.
