This story is about a freelance web designer who agreed to build an e-commerce website in exchange for 15% of its gross revenue over six months instead of an upfront payment. As the site became successful, the client stopped responding and never paid the commissions owed.
Months later, the client suddenly reached out after the website crashed, wrongly accusing him of causing the issue and asking him to fix it. Seeing an opportunity to recover his earnings, he refused to discuss the website until he was paid.
The freelancer demanded the unpaid commissions along with a 10% late-payment surcharge, which the client paid immediately. Looking back, he says, "Getting the job was the easy part. Getting paid is another job in itself," a lesson he believes every freelancer should learn early.

This story is about a man who took out a RM75,000 loan to buy his fiancée a car, believing it would prove his commitment and reassure her parents before their wedding. Although he could barely afford it, he agreed because he saw it as an investment in their future together.
For a while, everything seemed fine, but his fiancée gradually became distant. Just two weeks before their wedding, he discovered her holding hands with another man and leaving in the very car he was still paying for. He ended the engagement, but because the car was registered under her name, she kept it while the loan remained his responsibility.
Looking back, he admits his biggest mistake was confusing love with financial sacrifice. As he puts it, "I hope you learn from my mistakes; it is a cheaper lesson this way."

This story is about a Malaysian mother whose life changed after learning that her husband had HIV, only to discover she had also contracted the virus after years of unknowingly being exposed.
"I'm sorry puan. Your husband has HIV," the doctor told her after revealing that her husband had admitted to having unprotected sexual relationships with multiple women. She later tested positive for both HIV and syphilis, while her children thankfully tested negative.
Already struggling financially, the woman says her husband's abusive behaviour worsened after he was discharged from hospital, leaving her torn between staying with the man she still loves and leaving to protect herself and her children. She has since sought advice from a lawyer and women's support organisations.
Her story sheds light on the devastating impact of domestic abuse, infidelity, and HIV, while highlighting the difficult choices many survivors face when trying to rebuild their lives.
