The nasi campur girlie in me is SCREAMING… 😩

HOW DID I SLEEP ON THIS NASI PADANG SPOT?! I finally tried Ampera Raya and okay… I get the hype now! The sweet and berlemak gravy rice, with the delicious gulai kobis… sambal hijau… I need more! 😣

Here’s what I tried:
🥥 Set Jimat Ayam Pop – I’ve been seeing KA’s ayam pop recipe but never got the chance to try it, so I was so happy when I saw this on the menu! Juicy chicken with thick, sweet gravy that was so berlemak. The Set Jimat comes with nasi rames and a drink.
🌶️ Set Jimat Ayam Cili Hijau – I expected the chicken to be spicy, but it was actually very tolerable. Cukup rasa and so good with their nasi rames!

Also ordered some add-ons:
🍳 Telur Dadar – Spicy! They were generous with chilli. 🌶️
🥔 Perkedil – Always my fave, and I have zero complaints.
🐟 Tilapia Bakar – Perfectly grilled fish served with loads of cili potong and kicap. So good!

🥤 Completed the meal with some teh o ais and sirap ais that came with the Set Jimat (starts from just RM14)

If you haven’t tried this Ampera Raya yet… this is your sign. The nasi rames is too good to be missed. You’ll thank me later! 💕

Did someone say GHOST PEPPER?! 🔥

Instead of being just World’s Best Flavoured Fries, Potato Corner decided to bring in Ghost Pepper Chicken Tenders! It’s no wonder everyone is raving about the heat on my FYP! 🥵

Here’s my honest take:
🌶️ Level 1 (Pedas) – Loveeee the thick coating of Ghost Pepper sauce and the spice was just nice for me as a Hantu Pedas. Good enough for those who can’t take heat. 😆
🔥 Level 2 (Pedas Giler) – PERFECT balance of flavour & heat, this one memang ngam with my tastebud! If you love heat in your food, you’d thank me for this!
🥵 Level 3 (Pedas Berhantu)– The brave girl in me laughed it off until the heat hits after. 😭🔥

Potato Corner’s Ghost Pepper Chicken is made with REAL Ghost Pepper (over 1 million SHU 😳) so the spice actually builds with every bite.

For me? Level 2 all the way. 😏 Which one would you try?

NASI LEMAK BEBEK GORENG 🔥🦆

We’ve all heard of bebek goreng, sambal gepuk… but FRIED DUCK with nasi lemak?? I kept seeing foodies rave about this spot in SS15 so I had to try it myself 👀

Here’s what I tried:
🌽 Corn Fritters – slightly chewy but that sweet corn flavour really hits.
🦆 Mad Fried Signature Bebek – fall-off-the-bone duck paired with nasi lemak 🤯 sambal bawang + sambal balado was CRAZY SPICY but luckily comes with soup and drink to save you when you pick the Mad Signature Set!
🍗 Mad Grilled Chicken – sweet soy marinated, super juicy. Perfect if you don’t eat duck (I literally drenched my rice in the soy sauce to escape the sambal heat 😂) You can also choose telur itik or ayam… that runny yolk with sambal + rice? SAY LESS 😭🔥
🥥 Fresh Coconut & Cucumber Plum – super refreshing but the Mad Signature Set cane with pandan dew & peach lemon tea.

The sambal + coconut milk rice combo? Honestly crazy good. Spicy lovers… this one will test you! 🔥

So rare… you CAN’T find this anywhere else in Malaysia 👀🔥

When I heard this Indonesian spot is serving a whole grilled chicken that claims to be the first in Malaysia, I knew I had to check them out!

Here’s what I tried here:

🌶️ Nasi Putih Ayam Rica-Rica – The portion surprised me and the spice? 🥵 As a spice lover, this one is CRAZY SPICY but so satisfying with the kuah gulai. Try it yourself if you dare. 😉

🍗 Nasi Kuning Ayam Bakar Kecap – I liked the sweet grilled chicken paired with that pulut-like rice… sooo good. The plate was loaded with veges, tempeh, and rempeyek. Sambal terasi adds a nice spicy kick to level up the whole meal! 🔥

🍗 Ayam Bakar Betutu Bali – This one stole the show! Meat falls off the bone, super fragrant, slightly sweet and the sambal matah really completes everything. A MUST try.

🥤 Ais Kopi Susu Gula Aren – Coffee lover approved, with a nice bitter aftertaste.
🥒 Timun Serut – Fresh grated cucumber drink, super refreshing after all that spice.

🍌 Pisang Bakar Keju – Didn’t expect it to be wrapped with bread, but a good warm dessert to end the meal

If you love spicy food OR even kalau tak makan pedas, this place still got options for you (plus 2 more grilled chicken flavours to explore 👀). Bring your chicken lover gang, go crazy and thank me later 😌

This tiramisu is actually dangerous… 😭🍫

I went all the way to this hidden coffee shop in Pasar Seni just to try Nottie Misu and they just dropped a chocolate flavour too! 😮‍💨

Here’s what they offer :
☕ Classic Tiramisu – Their tiramisu is a very light experience with airy mascarpone that melts so nicely and the cocoa was not bitter at all!
🍫 Premium Chocolate Tiramisu – Richer, more indulgent with a slight bitter kick… I actually prefer this one and finished it all by myself. 🤭

If you haven’t tried Nottie Misu yet, this is your sign.

Ready to get nottie? Just order online or head to Safehouse Pasar Seni and have it with a cup of coffee. Thank me later. 😉

This place switches everything up. 🤯

This kopitiam is already known for their crazy menu.. unique cakes and surprising fusions.. 😳 When I found out they opened a new outlet at Old Klang Road, I had to try it. 😮‍💨✨

Here’s what I tried:
🍜 Signature Chicken Curry Mee – Thick, flavourful curry with a slight spicy kick… It was loaded with long beans, beancurds, chicken and boiled egg. �🍳 Omurice Salted Egg Chicken Chop – The salted egg chicken chop really elevated the omurice! �🧀 Roti John Golden Cheese – loaded with cheese, crispy chicken and veges… so filling but satisfying! 😮‍💨

For Desserts :
🍞 Pandan Kaya Lava Bun – buttery bun with overflowing homemade pandan kaya. ✨�🍮 Signature Putu Piring Cake – this tasted just like the real thing but in fluffy cake form! 🍰�🍰 Kuih Talam Burnt Cheesecake – the coconut milk layer had jelly like texture and the pandan burnt cheesecake was dense and very rich. �
For Drinks:�☕ Inhouse Special - Strong kopi with ice cream on top. Loved this! �🧋 Teh Kaya Ice – Didn’t expect milk tea to pair so well with their kaya. 🌿
☕ Classic Hot Kopi – strong cuppa coffee!

Have you tried this Sri Lankan spot before? 👀

When I’m craving authentic Sri Lankan flavours… this spot never misses, but this time? Yarl came out with a whole NEW menu items with Indian flavours too and I had to try them!

New items that I tried here;
🥪 Bread Pakora – Indian crispy fried bread with potatoes and it came with my fav mint sauce (the one that you get with chicken tandoori) and a ginger sauce that are sweet, sour & spicy at the same time.
🌯 Chicken Roll – This one was wrapped in a parotha and so filling! It came with mint sauce & ginger sauce too.
🍗 Hydrabadi Chicken Biryani – A light, fragrant basmathi rice biryani with tender chicken meat. Their raita was the blended type and it complimented the whole dish nicely.
🥞 Yarl Mutton Curry Thosai – This was my TOP PICK! Yarl’s thosai is the thick, soft type with curry that was chef’s kiss. The mutton chunks were so tender and the egg? Cherry on top of a cake!

Other dishes worth trying;
🍘 Fish Cutlet – I can’t say more about this apart from how it mimicked bergedil but with fish instead and a crispy breadcrumb coating. So good!
🍤 Prawn Kothu Roti – Honestly didn’t expect those huge prawns and the kothu roti was perfect on its own even without the extra curry on side.
🥥 Sweet Appam – They were famous for this right? And it was REALLY good!

Honestly… the NEW menu really leveled this place up with Indian flavours. The crowd speaks for itself. 😮‍💨 So take this as a sign to visit Yarl to try their new menu and thank me later! ✨

Viral Mee Rebus? 👀🔥

I’ve been seeing the hype about G’rai Warung’s Mee Rebus all over my feed, so naturally, I had to visit them myself!

Here’s what I tried here;
🍢 Chicken Satay – Well-marinated chicken skewers, grilled to perfection while still juicy, paired with their thick, rich kuah kacang. Loved it!
🍜 Mee Rebus – I got the one with clams + squid sambal, and the gravy was spot on. Rich, flavourful, with sambal on the side for that extra spicy kick. 🌶️ No wonder everyone’s raving over their mee rebus!
🍚 Nasi Kerabu Grilled Chicken – A full experience with fragrant nasi bunga telang, non-hanyir ikan kelapa, and grilled chicken drenched in sambal… every bite hits.
🍰 Batik Indulgence Cake – super indulgent with a cream cheese layer and THICK chocolate topping… kek batik lovers would get it. 🤤
☕ Drinks – good ol’ hot milk tea & iced white coffee to complete the meal.

If you’re craving a solid Malay kopitiam with classic flavours done RIGHT, you have to check G’rai Warung and don’t skip that mee rebus… thank me later 😉

Vegetarian food that’s NOT boring! 🌱✨

I recently visited Idealite at Bukit Jalil and every dish here was surprisingly packed with flavour and honestly… just SO GOOD.

Here’s what I tried here:
🍢 Hericium Satay With Beancurd – Lion’s mane mushroom that really felt like chicken and I loved the kuah kacang!
🍄 Provence Tempura Mushroom – Crispy outside but so juicy inside, unlike the usual crispy enoki or oyster mushroom that are normally dry.

🍝 Meatball Spaghetti – The pasta sauce was so rich with tomato and loved the meatballs that mimicked mutton so well!
🍜 Assam Laksa – I’m not a fan of assam laksa but this vege version easily stole my heart with that strong flavour and spiciness.
🍞 Red Tomyam Bread – Huge roti with deliciously thick tomyam gravy!
🍛 Green Curry Rice – The green curry was spot on.
🍚 Nasi Rendang – This rendang was heavy on kerisik and on the sweeter side.

🍓 Pinky Pitaya Bowl – A dragonfruit pureed into a cold and smooth delicious bowl of dessert.

🥑 Avocado Soymilk – Didn’t expect it to be a smoothie with bobba!
🍫 Dirty Nutty Cocoa – Indulgent and perfect for chocolate lovers.

If you’re into vegetarian food (or even just curious), this place really delivers. 😮‍💨 Go try it yourself and thank me later! ✨

Last Raya holiday, me and Srika escaped to Villea Port Dickson for a much-needed beachside break… and it was exactly what we needed to complete the holiday. ✨

Another Thai spot… but elevated 👀✨

This Thai contemporary restaurant surprised me in the best way. blends Thai flavours with a modern touch, and every dish felt so refined.

What we tried here;
🍃 Prawn Betel Leaf – the combination of herbal flavour from the betel leaf complimented the fresh prawn so well with chili jam.
🌽 White Corn Ribs – this was naturally sweet and my kid devoured it!
🍢 Flame Smoked Chicken Skewers – tender, sweet chicken skewers with smoky aroma.

🐟 Golden Catch – Crispy fried red snapper that has my kid’s heart. So good with the Thai 3 rasa sauce.
🍲 Tomyum Seafood – generous seafood, but flavour leans more comforting than spicy.
🥬 Stir Fried Paku Vegetables – soft, greensy goodness, similar to kailan but crunchier.

🥭 Mango Black Sticky Rice – rich, sweet dessert that’s balanced with a hint of saltiness.

🧸 Teddy Bead Thai Milk Tea – too cute to be missed!
🌿 Lemongrass Pandan Mocktail – light and fragrant & my favourite here!
💜 Butterfly Pea Tea – sour kick that wakes up your tastebuds! 😂
