Hello, sir.
Please allow me to share my story and ask for your advice.
Right now, I’m in Bangkok. Previously, I worked in Singapore for two years on a construction job under a Citi Work Permit. It was very tiring, so I wanted to switch to something else.
Through an agent, I paid SGD 3,500 and found a new job as a chef in a Myanmar restaurant. Since I already know how to cook Myanmar food, I went for the interview and passed. I then resigned from the construction job and returned to Thailand, waiting for my new IPA to be approved.
When the IPA came out, I was shocked to find it was still under a construction permit, not a chef role. I told the agent, but he said, “Are you coming or not? If not, I’ll cancel it.” I had no choice but to return to Singapore.
Once I got back, I was made to work in the kitchen, despite my permit still being under construction. At first, nothing happened.
But after about five to six months, officers from MOM (Ministry of Manpower) came to check the kitchen. The boss immediately called me and told me to go into hiding for a while. I stayed at home for one month. After that, he told me to come back to work again.
Eventually, I got scared and didn’t want to risk being caught or deported, so I left for Thailand again. Five days later, my permit was canceled. I couldn’t go back to Singapore anymore.
I had only worked for about five months, and I hadn’t saved anything. Now I’m stuck in Thailand. I want to apply for new jobs, but agency fees are very expensive, and I can't afford them.
If there’s any job opportunity where I can pay through salary deduction, that would be really helpful. Right now, I’m facing a lot of difficulty and don’t know what to do next.
Please give me some advice. 🙏🏻🙏🏻
