After 45 years of creating unforgettable memories, this iconic retreat will close from 11 October 2026 for a complete transformation. Opened in 1979 as Club Med’s first resort in Asia, Club Med Cherating has become a beloved part of Malaysia’s holiday history.

PLATS has surpassed a major milestone with more than 100,000 registered entrepreneurs, underscoring Selangor’s continued commitment to building an inclusive, resilient and sustainable entrepreneurial ecosystem. The achievement was celebrated at the Platform Selangor Awards Night 2026 (MAPS 2026), where about 1,000 government leaders, agencies, industry partners and entrepreneurs gathered to recognise outstanding business achievements.

With initiatives spanning digitalisation, financing, market access and capacity building, PLATS continues to equip local entrepreneurs to adapt, expand and compete in an increasingly dynamic economy. The evening also saw 23 awards presented across nine categories, with Minah Satay founder Puan Norminah Binti Syafrial receiving the Selangor State Micro-Entrepreneur Grand Award and prizes worth RM20,000.

CapitaLand has been named Company of the Year in the shopping mall category at the Sustainability & CSR Malaysia Awards 2026.

The recognition highlights its 5.0 initiative, which provided approximately RM200,000 worth of daily necessities and educational supplies to around 2,250 beneficiaries nationwide.

The programme also brought together employees, partners and community organisations to provide healthcare, wellness services and other support for underserved families.
