One of the best ways to resist is to exist. Fully. Freely. Boldy. Basking in knowing my presence, my essence, rings an alarm to the masses. The power has always been that of the divine feminine. This country has mastered everything but peace, prosperity and the pursuit of happiness. The same lame paper that this stolen land was founded on. So when I say I adore the 60s I’m not talking about the patriarchal, socioeconomic oppressive bs that came with it. The nostalgia will suffice.

Without my village I am nothing. Words could never describe the amount of gratitude I have for my tribe. My family hadn’t seen me walk since high school so this past weekend was a very special time for us. To gather in a gorgeous home that looks over the city and fly out the incredible chef from Baltimore to cater the Caribbean food I rave about out here in LA, the custom charcuterie boards and cakes, there are no limits to what my family can do when we get together. They even put a tribute video together of the folks that couldn’t make omit to Cali. That really touched me because there’s so much I’m missing not being home but everything I’m doing out here is for my family. I love y’all so much 🙏🏾❤️

I hope everyone enjoyed their . I’ll post a recap tomorrow, I’m still reminiscing on how beautiful mine was. 🥺 I really wanted to take the day to be present with nature. I pray that we all continue to strengthen our relationships with nature and all that she provides for us to be our best selves, to be more like her, even when we don’t take care of her as well as we should. This is the only home we have folks, so let’s do a better job at protecting and preserving it. 🌎♻️🧡

Last year I discovered that one of my greatest superpowers is being adaptable. I took a documentary film class that challenged me to conceptualize, write, shoot, AND edit a short film in a semester’s time. The result? A film about two people with completely different backgrounds, that share a common interest, an admiration for preloved things. My hope is that my stories inspire people to see things a bit differently, better their buying habits, and keep the world in mind while doing so.

I’m grateful 2021 taught me how to make do with what I have and while a monstrous reporter camera and tripod was quite the tool, it was incredibly intimating at first. Thankfully, my curiosity and creativity guided me every step of the way. Check out my first of many short films, ‘Reworked’. Link in bio! 🎬

Can’t believe it’s been raining so much in LA, not mad about it because she needs it but here’s a moment of the sunshine you’re used to me raving about. The weather that brought me out here in the first place. It’s safe to say Cali has my heart. Moving here was seriously the best decision I ever made.☀️
