I didn’t hate myself. I was just scared.

When I look back at how I used to be, I can see now that I wasn’t broken. I wasn’t lazy. I wasn’t out of control. I was doing the best I could to survive in a body and a world that didn’t feel safe.

Eating was one of the only ways I knew how to feel comfort. It was the only moment in my day where I could breathe, where I could come back to myself, where I didn’t feel so on edge. That wasn’t self-hate. That was survival. That was self-love in the only form I knew how to give it.

And honestly? I don’t blame myself.
Not anymore.

I understand now that I wasn’t trying to destroy myself. I was trying to soothe myself.

I didn’t hate myself. I was desperately trying to love myself. And that’s what I think so many people misunderstand. Just because someone is struggling doesn’t mean they don’t care. If I didn’t love myself, I wouldn’t have been fighting so hard to feel better. I wouldn’t have kept searching for ways to heal. I wouldn’t be here now, still trying, still growing, still softening.

I’m a sensitive person. I speak softly. I feel things deeply. And for a long time, I thought that made me weak. I was raised by someone who was loud, aggressive, and told me that being soft was wrong. But now I know I wasn’t wrong. I was just different. And that difference is beautiful.

Not everyone needs to be the loudest in the room. Not everyone heals the same way.

Some of us are quiet warriors. Some of us regulate by retreating.
Some of us carry tenderness like armor.

And that’s okay.

I’m sharing this because maybe you’re like me. Maybe you’re just now realizing that your “bad habits” were actually your best attempts to cope.

Maybe you’re realizing that your softness isn’t a flaw, it’s a feature.

Maybe you’re not just healing. Maybe you’re finally coming home to yourself.

And if that’s you, I see you.

You’re not too sensitive. You’re not too emotional. You’re not weak.

You’re healing. And you’re doing a damn good job.

🌿 Healing Herbal Tea Recipe for Hormone Balance, Detox, and Inflammation 🌺
This tea combines the benefits of whole cloves, hormone balance tea, mullein leaf tea, anti-inflammatory herbs, moringa, soursop leaves, and hibiscus flowers into a powerful healing blend.

✨ Ingredients (Makes 1-2 Servings)

2 cups water
3-4 whole cloves (for digestion, antibacterial, and liver support)
1 tsp hormone balance tea blend (raspberry leaf, chasteberry, or other hormone-regulating herbs)
1 tsp mullein leaf (for lung and immune health)
1/2 tsp anti-inflammatory herbs (turmeric, ginger, or boswellia)
1 tsp dried moringa leaves (for energy, detox, and blood sugar balance)
2-3 soursop leaves (for immune and anti-cancer properties)
1 tsp hibiscus flowers (for heart health and detox)
1/2 tsp cinnamon (optional, for flavor & blood sugar regulation)
1 tbsp honey or agave (optional, for taste)
🫖 Instructions

Bring water to a boil in a small pot.
Add cloves, soursop leaves, and mullein leaf first (these need the most extraction time). Reduce heat and let simmer for 10 minutes.
Add the remaining ingredients (hormone balance tea, moringa, hibiscus, anti-inflammatory herbs). Cover and let steep on low heat for another 5-7 minutes.
Turn off the heat and let the tea sit for another 5 minutes to enhance potency.
Strain the tea into a cup using a fine mesh strainer.
Add honey, agave, or lemon for taste if desired.
Enjoy warm for best absorption! 💖
