For over 35 years, Shanthini Venugopal has slipped between spotlights and shadows — from ingénues in love to aunties with questions and sass. Actor, singer, author, storyteller — she's lived a thousand lives and left audiences breathless in every one.

With music from Roberta Flack, Nat King Cole, the Carpenters and other legends, this is a show wrapped in memory, laced with humour, and delivered with a wink and a whole lot of heart.

Shanthini Venugopal, is a multidisciplinary performance artist, and arts educator in Malaysia for over 25 years.

She started The Jumping JellyBeans in 2004 and shares her work with children and adults in Malaysia and Internationally through, workshops, storytelling, theatre, and singing performances.

Besides running her own Theatre Company, she has held many positions in various industries throughout her working career.

She does voice overs in 3 languages and has acted in many commercials and local movies.

She was a main supporting actor in the Hollywood movie, Anna and The King with Jodie Foster and Chow Yuen Fatt.

She is the pioneer member of The Instant Cafe theatre company since 1989.

HOMME TRIBUTE : FREDERICK FORSYTH

We're sorry to hear of the death of English Novelist, Frederick Forsyth, who has died at the age of 86, according to his agent.

A statement released by his literary agent, Curtis Brown, said that he died at home after a brief illness surrounded by his family.

He was best known for thrillers such as The Day of the Jackal, The Odessa File, The Fourth Protocol, The Dogs of War, The Devil's Alternative, The Fist of God, Icon, The Veteran, Avenger, The Afghan, The Cobra and The Kill List.

He was born Frederick McCarthy Forsyth on the 25th of August 1938 in Ashford, Kent, England.

Forsyth's works frequently appeared on best-sellers lists and more than a dozen of his titles have been adapted to film.

By 2006, he had sold more than 70 million books in more than 30 languages, to be one of the best selling novelist of all time from England.

National Cancer Society Malaysia – Teeing Off for a Cause: Golfers Unite for the 2025 Charity Tournament in Support of NCSM

HAPPY WESAK DAY :

Wesak Day, observed on the full moon of the lunar month of May, commemorates the birth, enlightenment, and passing of Prince Siddhartha Gautama, who became the Buddha.

On Wesak Day, Buddhist devotees typically wear white and observe the Eight Precepts — a stricter version of the Five Precepts — as a form of spiritual discipline.

The Five Precepts are to:

Abstain from killing living beings.
Abstain from stealing.
Abstain from sexual misconduct.
Abstain from lying.
Abstain from becoming intoxicated.
The Eight Precepts contain an additional three guidelines, which are:

Refrain from eating after midday: This practice is to promote simplicity and detachment from material desires.
Refrain from dancing, singing, music, and unseemly shows: This is to discourage frivolous activities that distract from mindfulness.
Refrain from perfumes and cosmetics: This is to encourage a simple and unpretentious lifestyle.
