We're asked this question a lot when speaking to clients or friends. So here's a breakdown for you with all the stats!

Due to the volume of Malaysian users on Facebook, we usually recommend starting there for clients who have limited resources or who just want to target a broader audience.

Short form videos are also gaining traction across all platforms, so it's important that businesses shift their focus in terms of the types of content they produce to cater to changing behaviours of their target audiences.

If you're in F&B, beauty, or travel, Xiao Hong Shu is THE emerging platform to be on now that more Malaysian Chinese prefer using it (over Google) to find local recommendations. Since the platform is relatively young, the cost of influencer engagement is still quite low compared to other channels, which is great news for small brick and mortar stores!
