I want to share a tale of intrigue, manipulation, and a valuable lesson.

A friend of mine called me yesterday to tell me how a trap was set for her. Now I will not be sharing her story to you, but will relate mine to hers.

This is my story….
I attended a wedding with my family and it was time for the group I belong to, to present a gift to the bride, then we all stood and jigged to the aisle of the hall.
The master manipulator with eyes like polished obsidian and a heart colder than the northern winds, She thrived on the vulnerability of others, like a spider ensnaring an unsuspecting scheme.

She walked up to me….
Maureen, I answered, “can you present this gift to the bride”, I asked why. Where was the leader of the group, “she said she didn't think she could do it better”, I smiled 😊, I knew right from that moment that something was fishy, and coming from someone who wants to be noticed everywhere, she wants to remain relevant by all means, someone who she and her group feel intimidated by me and feels I want to overshadow them, it was another reason for me to smile☺️

I accepted with a cold tone because I felt this was a trap, and indeed it was a trap.
When we got to where the bride was, the Mc brought out the mic, and I did not fail to listen to my instinct, by giving the mic first to the leader” Immediately I turned to give the mic to her, lo and behold, she has already stretched out her hand to take the mic, I quickly gave her and she said “thank you”, I gave her a warm smile.

She praised the gift, her words like velvet, and presented it to the bride herself.

The manipulator poison spread like wildfire without me knowing, “She craves attention, even at another's expense."

But the truth remained hidden: not until one day, a member of the group walked up to me and asked me if it's true that I wanted to give a speech when the leader of the group was present, I said no and told her all that happened…
She told me how the manipulator and her friends were busy telling people all sort of things. I smiled again and said I already knew what they were good at and couldn't waste my energy fighting losers.

Now, back to my friend, she fell for it and was humiliated publicly😒, I hate to see her sad, but it has happened and she has learnt.
