Tigers Sports Club Holds Extraordinary Annual General Meeting (EAGM) in Windhoek
Rehoboth, Namibia, 30 August 2026 — Tigers Sports Club convened a significant Extraordinary Annual General Meeting on Saturday, 29 August 2026, at the Marigold Hotel in Windhoek.
The gathering was well attended by members and supporters, marking a pivotal moment for the club’s future direction.
The agenda was centered around key decisions including the rescission of a prior resolution on football club ownership and management, as well as the appointment of a new executive committee to guide the club into its next chapter.
During the meeting, members unanimously agreed to rescind and reverse the resolution passed on 9 July 2025, which had transferred management of the Tigers Football Club to Nelson Dicky Akwenye’s consortium. The authority and management responsibilities have now been reinstated under the club’s Executive Committee of Tigers Sports Club, in accordance with the club’s constitution.
In a move to strengthen leadership, the club appointed a new executive committee tasked with steering the club forward. The following individuals were elected to key positions:
Commercial Development: Lucas Nanyemba
Chairperson: Kelly Asser (incoming, replacing Mr. Nelson Akwenye)
Vice Chairperson: Turky Ndashiiva
Head of Football: Escher Luanda
Head of Netball: Hafeni Hiveluah
Marketing & Public Relations: Cooks Kunamwene
Treasurer: Stanley Neumann
Additional Members: Lance Huauanga & Dimbulekeni Nayuoma
Supporters Club: TBA
The newly appointed committee signifies a fresh approach aimed at fostering growth and development across all departments of the club.
The Tigers Sports Club reaffirmed its commitment to strengthening governance structures and preparing for its centenary milestone in 2027. The club’s leadership expressed optimism about future developments, emphasizing unity and strategic planning.
