NamPost announces update on social cash grant payments and re-registration

NAMIBIA Post Limited (NamPost) has announced the rollout of its social cash grant payment programme, which begins in October 2025 and will be conducted alongside the re-registration of beneficiaries.
The programme will begin with a pilot payout on Thursday, 9 October, at the Okahandja and Omitara post offices, while mobile payouts will take place at Groot Aub and Otjimbingwe on the same day. According to NamPost, the pilot will test operational readiness before the nationwide payment rollout on Monday, 13 October.
Old-Age Grants will be paid between 13 and 15 October, followed by Child and Disability Grants from 16 to 18 October. Conditional Basic Income Grants will be processed on 20 and 21 October. Beneficiaries who miss their scheduled payout dates will still be able to collect their grants between 23 and 29 October at any NamPost branch. NamPost further emphasised that procurators must be accompanied by beneficiaries during the October or November payment cycles, and those with multiple grants may collect all their payments during their first visit.
The mobile payment programme will also commence on 13 October, with schedules to be communicated through radio, community notice boards and NamPost’s social media platforms.
Re-registration of beneficiaries will take place at the same time as the October payments, earlier than the December start date initially communicated. Registration will be conducted at both in-branch post office payouts and mobile paypoints. Beneficiaries are required to present their national identification card or passport together with their current grant card to complete the process.
NamPost added that bedridden beneficiaries will not be left out. Procurators or representatives are advised to inform NamPost or their local councillor’s office so that special arrangements can be made to assist them with re-registration.
The company reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring that all beneficiaries can access their grants safely, conveniently, and with dignity during the transition.
