"Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you." – James 4:8
In the stillness of the soul, in the chaos of our days, and even in the hidden aches of our hearts, there is a yearning that cannot be silenced a longing for something more, something eternal. That yearning is the echo of heaven calling us home. It is not weakness to need God it is revelation. The moment we recognize our deep, daily dependence on Him is the moment we begin to walk in truth.
The world teaches self-sufficiency, but heaven calls us to intimacy. The Kingdom of God was never designed to be lived at a distance. From Genesis to Revelation, the story has always been about a God who draws near. He walked with Adam, spoke with Moses, wept with Mary, and now lives within us by His Spirit. We don’t approach Him with fear we run to Him with need, with hunger, with trust.
When we draw near, we are not met with judgment, but mercy. We are not met with rejection, but open arms. God desires not just our obedience but our hearts. Our need for Him is not a flaw it is the bridge into divine fellowship. The veil is torn, the invitation is open, and the blood of Jesus speaks, “Come closer.”
It is in drawing near that we are transformed. Sin loses power. Fear is cast out. Purpose is revealed. In the nearness of God, clarity comes, and healing flows. He is not far; He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), near to those who call on Him in truth (Psalm 145:18). He does not resist our need He responds to it.
So let the cry of your heart today be, “Lord, I need You.” Not just for a moment of breakthrough, but for every breath, every step, every decision. The more we see our need for Him, the more clearly we see who He is: our Redeemer, our Shepherd, our Father, our Friend.
Let this be the revelation that marks your walk: you were not made to survive without Him you were made to thrive in Him.
“Be encouraged about drawing near to God in your imperfection so that in His Perfection you’re Clothed in His Righteousness.”
