Why Starve Your Personal Desire?
That is the defense many use to silence their conscience. They say, “At least I’m not with a man or woman.” They say, “It’s safer, no pregnancy, no disease, no scandal.” And so they comfort themselves in secrecy, believing they have found a softer alternative to sin. But let me ask you—when did God ever approve a softer version of darkness? When did He ever declare one sin more righteous than another? The truth is, ma********on is not a safe ground. It is fornication rehearsed in private, lust fed behind closed doors, and a prison carefully designed to enslave your soul while you smile at your own chains.
The enemy knows you will fear public shame, so he offers you a private sin. He knows you will avoid the bed of another, so he builds an altar in your imagination. What begins as “better than fornication” soon becomes the appetite that weakens prayer, dries your fire, and distances you from the presence of God. Ma********on is not an escape—it is a snare. It is not medicine—it is poison that feels sweet in the mouth but bitter in the spirit. Do not be deceived. Sin has no safe version. Sin has no lighter weight. Before God, it is the same rebellion. And until you cut it off, it will cut you off.
