Simple Skin Hydrating Light Body & Face Butter
Ingredients
2 tablespoons aloe vera gel
2 tablespoons vegetable glycerin
1 tablespoon jojoba oil (or sweet almond oil)
1 teaspoon Vitamin E oil
5 drops lavender essential oil (optional)
Instructions
Add the aloe vera gel to a clean mixing bowl.
Stir in the glycerin until well combined.
Slowly add the jojoba oil while whisking.
Add the Vitamin E oil and essential oil (if using).
Whip for 2–3 minutes until smooth and light.
Transfer to a clean cosmetic jar.
How to Use
Apply a small amount to clean skin on the face or body.
Use morning and night for soft, hydrated skin.

Oils
Palm Kernel Oil (PKO) – 400 g
Palm Oil – 300 g
Olive Oil – 200 g
Shea Butter – 100 g
Lye Solution
Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic Soda) – 140 g
Distilled Water – 300 g
Important: Run your recipe through a soap calculator before making any batch, as the exact lye amount depends on the SAP values of your oils and desired superfat.
Additives
Neem Powder – 2 tablespoons
Moringa Powder – 2 tablespoons
Vitamin E Oil – 10 ml (optional)
Tea Tree Essential Oil – 20–30 ml (optional)
Green Colorant (optional)
Method
Wear gloves and goggles.
Slowly add the sodium hydroxide to the distilled water (never water to lye). Allow it to cool.
Melt and combine the oils and let them cool to a similar temperature as the lye solution.
Pour the lye solution into the oils and blend until light trace.
Mix the neem and moringa powders with a little oil to form a smooth paste, then add to the soap batter.
Add the Vitamin E and essential oil, then stir well.
Pour into the mold and tap to remove air bubbles.
Cover and leave for 24–48 hours.
Unmold, cut into bars, and cure for 4–6 weeks before use.

Rice Bran Oil – 200 g
Olive Oil – 100 g
Shea Butter – 100 g
Lye Solution
Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic Soda) – 145 g
Distilled Water – 280 g
Important: Always verify the sodium hydroxide amount with a reliable soap calculator before making the soap, as lye requirements depend on the exact oils used.
Additives
Rice Powder – 20 g
Neem Powder – 15 g
Colloidal Oatmeal – 15 g (optional)
Vitamin E Oil – 10 g
Fragrance or Essential Oil – 20–30 g (optional)
Method
Wear gloves, goggles, and protective clothing.
Slowly add the sodium hydroxide to the distilled water and allow the solution to cool.
Melt and combine all the oils.
When both the oils and lye solution are about 35–45°C, pour the lye solution into the oils.
Blend until you reach a light trace.
Add the rice powder, neem powder, Vitamin E, oatmeal (if using), and fragrance. Mix thoroughly.
Pour into a silicone mould and tap gently to remove trapped air.
Leave for 24–48 hours before unmoulding.
Cut into bars and cure for 4–6 weeks before use.

Oils
Palm Oil – 350 g
Palm Kernel Oil – 250 g
Olive Oil – 200 g
Shea Butter – 150 g
Castor Oil – 50 g
Lye Solution
Sodium Hydroxide (Caustic Soda) – 144 g
Frozen Coconut Milk – 280 g
Important: Freeze the coconut milk into ice cubes before adding the caustic soda slowly. This helps prevent scorching and discoloration. Always verify the lye amount with a reliable soap calculator based on the exact oils you use.
Additives
Colloidal Oatmeal – 20 g (optional, for extra soothing)
Vitamin E Oil – 10 g
Fragrance or Essential Oil – 20–30 g (optional)
Method
Wear gloves and safety goggles.
Slowly add the caustic soda to the frozen coconut milk while stirring continuously.
Allow the lye solution to cool.
Melt and combine all the oils.
When both the oils and lye solution are around 35–40°C, pour the lye solution into the oils.
Blend to a light trace.
Add the Vitamin E, oatmeal (if using), and fragrance. Mix well.
Pour into a silicone mould.
Leave for 24–48 hours before unmoulding.
Cut into bars and cure for 4–6 weeks.

Slowly add the caustic soda to the distilled water (never the other way around). Allow it to cool.
Melt and combine all the oils.
