On Wednesday, President Bola Ahmed Tinubu signed the 2026 Amendment Act into law. This development comes amid heightened public demand and ongoing protests across the country, where citizens are insisting on the mandatory online real-time transmission of electoral results.
Protesters argue that any clause capable of enabling election manipulation by a dubious political class must be removed. They maintain that transparent, real-time electronic transmission remains one of the strongest safeguards against electoral fraud and is essential for restoring public confidence in Nigeria’s democratic process.

Pastor Abel Damian has extolled the intelligence, depth, and enduring relevance of the Holy Bible. According to him, even if he were to discover someday that heaven does not exist, he would still remain a Christian—because Christianity, to him, is not only about the reward of heaven but also about the wisdom, moral clarity, and transformative power the Bible brings into human life.

Human rights activist Omoyele Sowore has apologized to protesters after security operatives fired tear gas to disperse the peaceful demonstration demanding that the Senate reinstate the mandatory real-time transmission of electoral results.
Today’s incident was completely unprovoked and unnecessary. Nigerians came out peacefully to defend democracy, yet they were met with force simply because they insisted that the Senate restore what was dubiously removed from the original electoral bill.
Sowore said:
“I deeply apologize to everyone affected by the tear gas attack. No citizen deserves to be assaulted for demanding transparency. We will not be intimidated, and we will not back down.”
The call remains clear and non-negotiable:
Real-time transmission of election results must be reinstated.
It is a democratic safeguard, not a privilege.
Our struggle continues—peacefully, boldly, and with unwavering resolve.
🇳🇬✊ Democracy must work for the people, not against them.

When people say “Tinubu is not Goodluck Jonathan,” the APC and supporters of President Bola Tinubu may actually be correct — but not for the reasons they think.
The contrast between the two leaders is unmatched:
1. Former President Goodluck Jonathan was a democrat at heart.
He once declared that “my political ambition is not worth the blood of any Nigerian.” True to his words, he presided over one of the freest, fairest and most credible elections in 2015, even when he knew the outcome might not favour him. That is leadership. That is patriotism.
2. President Bola Tinubu, on the other hand, has shown no willingness to conduct a genuinely free and transparent election.
With the widespread dissatisfaction across the country — despite the loud praise-singing around his so-called “economic reforms” — it is clear why. A free, fair election would expose the reality at the ballot box.
This is the core difference: Jonathan protected democracy even at personal cost. Tinubu appears determined to protect power even at democracy’s cost.

The leadership crisis in Nigeria indeed presents a critical challenge, and the need for a leader who embodies competence, character, and capacity cannot be overstated. As the 2027 Presidential election approaches, the call for a focused leader with a clear vision for transformation becomes increasingly urgent.

Peter Obi has emerged as a significant figure in this landscape, appealing to many due to his background, experience, and articulated plans for Nigeria's development. His track record as a former governor and his approach to governance emphasize accountability, economic reforms, and a commitment to social justice, which resonate with the aspirations of many Nigerians seeking a new direction for the country.

To effectively address the multifaceted issues facing Nigeria—such as economic instability, pervasive corruption, and social inequality—a leader who can take decisive steps is essential. Peter Obi's emphasis on practical solutions and his understanding of the intricate challenges facing Nigeria may position him as a compelling candidate for those looking for a transformative leader in the upcoming elections.

Ultimately, the success of any leader will depend not only on their personal attributes but also on their ability to unite the diverse population of Nigeria, inspire hope, and mobilize the efforts of citizens towards a common goal of progress and prosperity. As the election approaches, the voices of the populace will be pivotal in shaping the future leadership of the nation.
