OTORO WARD 1 DECLARES MASSIVE SUPPORT FOR GOVERNOR UMO ENO AT GOVERNORSHIP PRIMARIES

Earlier today, May 21, 2026, the men, women, and youths of Otoro Ward 1 turned out massively at the ward centre to demonstrate overwhelming support for the performing and peace-loving Governor of Akwa Ibom State, Pastor Umo Eno, PhD, during the just-concluded governorship primaries election. The exercise was peaceful, orderly, and a true reflection of the unity and political strength of the ward.
Speaking during the event, the APC Ward Chairman, Mr. Uduak Effiong, expressed appreciation to party faithful, stakeholders, and supporters for their impressive turnout. He described the massive support for Governor Umo Eno as a clear indication of the people’s confidence in his leadership and commitment to the progress of Akwa Ibom State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The APC Chapter Chairman of Abak Local Government Area, Otuekong Ofonmbuk Anaka, also commended the people of Otoro Ward 1 for their show of love and solidarity. He praised Governor Umo Eno for promoting peace, unity, and sustainable development across the state, especially in Abak Local Government Area, while assuring the people that the Governor remains committed to delivering more dividends of democracy.
In his remarks, the Personal Assistant to the Governor on Grassroots Mobilization, Elder Solomon George, appreciated the people of the ward for their unwavering support for the Governor. He further thanked party stakeholders and party faithful for their dedication, coordination, and commitment toward ensuring the success of the primaries.
The Political Leader of Otoro Clan, Rt. Hon. Elder (Dr.) Friday Iwok, Ujo Annang — a two-term former Member of the Akwa Ibom State House of Assembly — applauded the people of Otoro Ward 1 for the remarkable turnout and unwavering solidarity shown in support of Governor Umo Eno during the governorship primaries. He described the Governor as a symbol of peace, unity, infrastructural advancement, and purposeful leadership, noting that his administration continues to deliver visible developmental projects across the state.
Elder Iwok particularly commended the Governor for his commitment to the ongoing construction of the Abak 10 Manta Road, describing the project as a significant milestone that will enhance economic growth and improve connectivity within the area.
Elder Iwok reaffirmed that Otoro Ward 1 remains fully supportive of Governor Umo Eno in recognition of his commitment to good governance and sustainable development across Akwa Ibom State. He also emphasized the importance of unity, cooperation, and collective support among party members and the people of the ward.
Finally, the Returning Officer, Mr. Bernard Utang, appreciated the people of Otoro Ward 1 for their peaceful conduct, coordination, and maturity throughout the governorship primaries. He commended the ward for setting an example of unity and political harmony during the exercise.
