*A COMMUNIQUE ISSUED BY NGBO PEOPLE AT THE END OF THE VIRTUAL NGBO GENERAL ASSEMBLY TAGGED NGBO CITIZENS LINKAGE, HELD ON THE 15TH DAY OF DECEMBER 2023, AS PART OF THE 2023 NGBO DAY CELEBRATION*
Following a State of the Nation address captioned OUR NATION, OUR PRIDE, delivered by the President General, Ngbo Leaders Council, Dr. Okeh C. Okeh, on the 15th Day of December, 2023 at Amoffia Town Hall as part of the activities marking the 2023 Ngbo Day Celebration, during which key issues affecting Ngboejeogu Nation were outlined and extensively deliberated upon by Ngbo people, in order to recast the past, understand the present and chat a progressive course for the future in building a greater Ngbo Nation, the following resolutions were made:
1. That because of the strategic importance of Okwor Ngbo Market as the center of Ngbo civilization, the beehive of commercial activities and a hub connecting all the communities in Ngbo, and because the display of masquerades in markets has been disruptive to the smooth socio-economic activities in the market, display of masquerades within the market and its environs *is* highly prohibited.
2 The display and/or sale of charms and other diabolically fe**sh materials in the market *are* alien and culturally abominable in Ngbo, and therefore highly prohited in all the markets in Ngbo.
3. That Traditional Worshippers and Masquerades intending to carry out any public display during their celebrations should confine themselves to the village square(s) of the affected celebrants and or community(ies).
4. In compliance with the existing laws of the land, and considering the negative consequences of the widespread activities of deviants on the total well-being of the people, the possession, sale and consumption of Indian Hemps (Igboo), Mkpuru miri or other related hard drugs within Okwor Market in particular, and the entire Ngbo land *are* highly prohibited.
