AKADORO ALUBELEKE UMUEZEOKA BRIDGE.
After the governor's approval for the construction of akadoro Alubeleke Umuezeoka bridge, he gave the ministry of work instruction to prepare the Bill of quantity and estimate for the construction.
when the Bill of quantity where presented to the executive council meeting, and the amount were on the high side considering other numerous projects The governor is undertaking, he wanted to postponed the Akadoro project.
The commissioner rised his hand to make contribution towards the project, to the Glory of God, The governor acknowledge him and permitted him to speak.
The words of the commissioner "His EXCELLENCY Sir, knowing fully well that there are numerous projects The government is funding accross the nooks and crannies of the State, please Sir, this Akadoro River has drowned so many people as a results of not constructing it, if we postpone the construction, it means that we will loose more lives this coming rainy seasons especially school children and nursing mothers" the commissioner Said.
and the governor replied with tears nearly dropped from his eyes and His voice showing effects of emotions he feels over the numerous deaths that has occurred overtime, the words of the governor.
" I feel deeply pained over the numerous deaths and lives taken by the dreaded Akadoro River, may the souls of those who loosed their lives found peace in the bossom of the Lord. not minding the cost of the bridge construction and it's opportunity cost, Life is greater than any other things, under my watch as the governor of Ebonyi state, Akadoro Alubeleke Umuezeoka River will never take any life again, am approving this project with immediate effect"
the governor quickly added, this bridge should be constructed with the highest standard and be completed before the beginning of rainy season as I will be there myself to commission the completed project before 29th may 2025
