THE PERMANENT SECRETARY ESTABLISHMENT, OFFICE OF THE HEAD OF SERVICE WELCOMES AFIKPO OKWURU-ORA WOMEN MOVEMENT FOR FON

The permanent Secretary, Office of the Head of Service, Dr. Isioma C. Arunne-Inyang recently received the Afikpo Okwuru-ora women movement for FON on a courtesy visit to her office at State Secretariat Complex, Centenary City, Abakaliki.

The Okwuru-ora weman movement for FON which is a session of a formidable Afikpo female stakes holders came in a courteous manner to show her a distinctive recognition and partnership in reuniting as well as promoting the FON Movement in Afikpo.

The bevy of ladies expressed excitement and love for the capacity Permanent Secretary while giving her an invitation letter for their August meeting, 2025.

Addressing the women, the Permanent Secretary Dr Isioma, acknowledged the honour of the visit and advised them to keep on the light of unity among them, and in extension to other parts of Ebonyi State through their supportive role to State Government.

Dr. Isioma reiterated the good heart of the State Governor, His Excellency, Bldr. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru and articulated her unwavering support for his administration.

Appreciating the visit, the Permanent Secretary thanked them for the accolade on her and promised to honour their invitation with a maximum support.

In the vote of thanks, the president of the Okwuru-Ora Women for FON Movement Prof Amari Omaka, the Chairperson of Afikpo LGA, Mrs Keziah Nwachi along side others applauded the Permanent Secretary for her kind reception, continued support to them anytime she is called up on and assured her that unity and success of FON is their paramount targeting achievement.

I am delighted to once again celebrate and congratulate our very own daughter, Blessing Munachi Ejiofor, one of the champions who brought prestige to our nation by securing a historic five-straight title in the African Women's Basketball tournament in Abidjan, Côte D'Ivoire.

Yesterday, we honored her at the expanded Executive Council Meeting of the State, acknowledging her outstanding achievements in Basketball, through which she has prominently placed Ebonyi State on a global map. Her dedication and journey to this stage serve as a beacon of inspiration for every Ebonyi girl child. She is a worthy ambassador of the State and we are proud of her.

In recognition of her accomplishments and in fulfillment of one of the tenets of our mandate - to encourage a reward system for outstanding servants of the State, Blessing Munachi Ejiofor has been inducted into the State’s Hall of Fame as Member, Ebonyi Hall of Fame (MEHF). Additionally, the State has made a donation of Thirty Million Naira (N30,000,000.00) to her and a duplex in our ongoing Civil and Public Servants Estate opposite Chiboy motors.

We also recognize her efforts in empowering girls through the Muna Foundation's Girls Empowerment Camp. She has implored the State to help groom young Ebonyi girls for the basketball sport. As such, in her honor, we have approved the sum of Fifty Million Naira (N50,000,000.00) for the State Ministry of Youths and Sports Development to build a befitting and professional basketball court for our young girls and boys talented in the sport.

Once more, we congratulate her for making us proud.
