When a woman with fibroids becomes pregnant, the fibroids may grow, especially in the first trimester. This happens because of increased pregnancy hormones (like estrogen and progesterone) and increased blood flow to the uterus โ€” both of which can make fibroids swell a bit.

However:
โ€ข Not all fibroids grow. Some stay the same size, and others can even shrink later in pregnancy when hormone levels balance out.
โ€ข The growth usually slows down or stops in the second and third trimesters.

You should also know that :
โ€ข Small fibroids usually donโ€™t affect pregnancy much.
โ€ข Large or multiple fibroids can sometimes cause issues like pain, pressure, or affect how the baby is positioned.
โ€ข Doctors usually monitor fibroids with ultrasound during pregnancy to make sure both mum and baby are safe.
