3 Nigerian universities make world ranking.

Only three Nigerian universities have made it to the 2026 QS World University Rankings released on Thursday by global higher education analyst, Quacquarelli Symonds (QS)—and none of them placed in the top 1,000.

The institutions listed were the University of Ibadan (UI), University of Lagos (UNILAG), and Ahmadu Bello University (ABU), Zaria. UI and UNILAG were both placed in the 1001–1200 band, the same range they occupied in the 2025 edition. ABU, which had no previous ranking in 2025, was ranked in the 1201–1400 category for 2026.

Imagine an aircraft so advanced that it can slip past the world’s most sophisticated defenses—unseen, unheard, and unstoppable.

That’s the B-2 Spirit.

Nicknamed the “Stealth Bomber,” the B-2 is a masterpiece of American engineering and military innovation. Its sleek, alien-looking silhouette is designed to absorb and deflect radar, making it nearly invisible as it glides silently through the night sky.

But what makes the B-2 even more spectacular is its sheer size. Stretching 172 feet (52 meters) from wingtip to wingtip—wider than a Boeing 737 is long—the B-2’s wingspan is as long as half a football field! Its wing-only “flying wing” design doesn’t just look futuristic; it’s a masterclass in stealth, allowing this massive aircraft to sneak past the world’s most advanced defenses as if it were a ghost.

Even from just a few hundred meters away, enemy radar operators are left staring at empty screens, unaware that a B-2 is right above them.

But it’s not just about stealth. The B-2 packs a punch, capable of carrying over 40,000 pounds of precision-guided bombs—including “bunker busters” designed to take out the world’s most fortified targets.

With global range thanks to mid-air refueling, it can launch from the heart of America and deliver a decisive blow anywhere on Earth within hours.

The B-2 isn’t just a plane—it’s a symbol of strategic dominance, a silent guardian that ensures U.S. airpower can reach anywhere, anytime, without warning.

THE DRINKER'S HEAVEN

For my gift I am thankful,
And so will I remain for many a decade to come.

Sharing life cake Nature has favoured me;
Living only to drink and sing and dance,
Even as a merry bird of Paradise.
My bottle is the fountain of happiness,
Excelling the sweetness of honey
And surpassing all love which women
could offer.
It's the unfailing fire which warms me
through the length of Harmattan
And an icepack to chill my bone in the
dogdays of March.
The world may trouble themselves
with vanity and ambition
And slay one another with savage
cruelty
Out of envy, out of hatred, and jealousy and pride;
I shall make no movement to intervene
But drink only to my eternal health and
happiness
And watch the chaos of their little
lives with scorn.
Life is short, they say, but I have no
reason to bother, for in the security of
my cup do I not live forever
As long as I know not when I die?
