Let's talk briefly about Immunization.

Answer this sincere question, How consistent and intentional are you with your children's vaccinations?

Are you aware there are loads of preventable diseases you'll be beating hands-down just by being faithful in vaccinating your children?

By this simple act of taking your child to the clinic for proper routine vaccinations, you're not only helping that child, but also yourself and the society at large.

Hey mothers, don't skip your child's immunization days.
Fathers, actively support your wives and constantly remind them on days they need to go for immunization. Get involved, it's also your responsibility.

THE HEALTH SYSTEM OF EBONYI STATE IS TAKING A GOOD SHAPE.

Today, 22 April, 2025, I was present to witness the flag off event of Ebonyi State Emergency Medical Service and Ambulance System (EBSEMSAS).
Key Highlights:
1. Several well-equipped emergency ambulances has been procured to serve in all the LGAs in Ebonyi State. All you need to do in cases of emergencies or possible referrals from PHCS is to call the number 112, an ambulance will be mobilized to come pick the patient to the hospital.
2. This service is completely free of charge, you don't need to pay for it.
3. In the first 42hrs of taking care of this patient, the treatment is free. So you won't need to bother about hospital bills to be attended to in emergency situations.
4. Oxygen Cylinders has been procured and distributed to both the selected PHCs and the General Hospitals in the state, and each zone has an Oxygen plant for easy refilling of the cylinders.
5. Plans are on ground to train the OICs of the PHCs on the use of these Oxygen Cylinders.

This is indeed a great development in the Health System of our dear State, courtesy of the dedication of our dear Governor Rt. Hon. Francis Ogbonna Nwifuru in improving the health of Ebonyi State Residents, together with the Honorable Commissioner of Health, Dr. Moses Ikenna Ekuma and his team.

Special appreciation to my Mentor, Dr. Eugene-Abah Chinwendu Precious (State Coordinator, EBSEMSAS) and Dr. Ogonna Odi Okoro PhD. (SWAP Coordinator, Ebonyi State) for their dedication in making the health system of our dear State an enviable one.

This is a good news to us and all you have to do is to utilize the services as they've been made available and duly paid for.

On Thursday, 6th March, 2025, I had the opportunity to sit with His Excellency, the President of Nigeria, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu in the A*o Rock Presidential Villa, together with other 773 Fellows selected from the 774 LGAs in Nigeria, as he inaugurates us as Health Fellows to ensure that quality health care gets to all the nooks and crannies of the federation.
This was after 2 weeks of intensive training on Public Health, Leadership, Data and Financial Management, as well as Problem Solving Skills.

The recruitment process is one of its kind as everything was automated and digitalised, free and fair, making sure that all selections were based on merit from the rigorous application and interview processes, as no one can boast of being a 'godfather' through which any of us were selected. This is indeed a renewed hope that as a nation, we have all it takes to make the system work and offer equal opportunities to all.

Special honour to the Coordinating Minister of Health and Social Welfare, Hon. Mohammad Ali Pate, CON. Mohammed Ali Pate Engagements for pioneering this path of excellence, you are indeed a great and exceptional leader. You've proven to us that a common Nigerian, who knows no one can be given an equal opportunity with everyone else to be selected into service. Thank you for being an example of a true Father.
To our State Coordinator, Mrs. Odi Okoro, you are a mother indeed 😊 God bless you ma, as well as all those who were in the helm of affairs to make sure that this whole process was a success, thank you very much.
His, Excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, thank you sir, for that last statement that got us all rolling in excitement, (YOU ARE HIRED) 😀

We've been called to serve and contribute our quota to the health of the nation, ensuring that everyone gets all healthcare benefits, especially in the underserved and rural areas of our communities, and in that mandate, I stand.
