JAMB ESTABLISHED 2025 ADMISSION PANEL FOR UNDERAGE CANDIDATES:

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board, on Wednesday, inaugurated a committee to oversee the process of admissions for underage candidates.

The JAMB Registrar, Prof. Ishaq Oloyede, disclosed at the sidelines of the inaugural meeting of the committee members in Bwari, FCT.

Oloyede said that the committee would decide the modalities for determining `specially gifted candidatesโ€™.

โ€These are the 599 underage candidates who scored 320 and above in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination."

The committee will therefore decide on the dates, what to do and set up who to pick at the end. They will pick candidates that are exceptionally brilliant to be admitted into tertiary schools in order to encourage them,โ€™โ€™ he said.

The JAMB registrar noted that the committee meeting had the virtual presence of Vice Chancellors of Nigerian universities, regulatory agencies, some critical stakeholders and experts in education. He added that the committee had resolved that between now and September those who would scale the hurdle from the 599 candidates would be announced.

He also cautioned against bribery to gain admission, saying that it was an anomaly to introduce the younger generation into the world of crime.

The registrar assured that the process for the admissions would be transparent and fair to the quality of the committee members.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has made significant changes to its regularization policies. It has been stated that from the 2024 admissions cycle onward, no regularization will be allowed for non-CAPS entries.

Starting from the 2024 academic year, JAMB has declared that all tertiary admissions (including full-time, part-time, sandwich, DE, etc.) must be fully processed via CAPS (Central Admission Processing System). This means JAMB will no longer conduct regularization for any admission offered outside CAPS.

Candidates admitted in 2024 or later through a school's internal process rather than through CAPS will not be able to regularize their admission.

REGULARIZATION DEADLINE FOR 2017-2020 ADMISSIONS:

For those admitted between 2017 and 2020, JAMB set a final regularization deadline of August 31, 2025. After that, no more applications from this group will be accepted.

REGULARIZATION STATUS:

- Year 2017-2020 (Allowed until August 31, 2025)
- Year 2021-2023 (Still allowed, provided admission was done out of JAMB CAPS)
- Year 2024 and later (Not allowed, unless your admission was processed through CAPS)

Please be advised that JAMB has prohibited regularization for admissions not processed through CAPS from the 2024 admission year.

Any candidate admitted in 2024 or later via non-CAPS routes cannot regularize their admission.

JAMB SUSPENDS 2025 O'LEVEL RESULTS UPLOAD ON CAPS:

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has temporarily suspended the uploading of the 2025 May/June WAEC results to its Central Admissions Processing System (CAPS) due to technical glitches encountered by WAEC.

We therefore advise candidates to exercise patience during this period.

JAMB is set to implement the mandatory use of result verification tokens (also known as scratch cards or e-pins) for uploading candidates' O'Level results (WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, etc.) on its portal.

This means that before a candidate's result can be uploaded or verified on the JAMB portal, they must provide a valid result checker token from the relevant examination body.

JAMB introduced this step to:

โ€ข Curb the upload of fake or doctored results.

โ€ข Ensure all uploaded O'Level results are properly verified directly from the exam body's database.

โ€ข Promote transparency and maintain the integrity of the admission process.
