The ritual of the Serpientes children on the Costa de Marfil is a traditional ceremony practiced by ethnic groups in the country, especially the Agni region, in the Man region. This ceremony is deeply rooted in the creencias of animistas and espirituales of the local communities. In the ritual, the young people, together with “niñas serpientes”, participate in a series of practical exercises that include dances, cantos and songs, and interact simultaneously with serpientes, considering sagradas and portadoras of espíritus ancestrales or divinos.
