Dreams do come true. 28 or so years ago l was a lawyer, successful on the outside and empty within. I decided to reorder my life, learning the power of meditation, prayer, early rising, journalling, tasting and nature walking-among other disciplines.

Over a period of time, I changed. Deeply. So I decided to write a book to share how I did it. People mocked the title. They laughed at my desire to become an author. But I continued. Not sure why.

I self-published the book. Sold it person by person at fairs and service clubs and independent bookshops. Some were rude to me. I used their meanness as fuel for my service.

Fascinatingly, the book took off. Wasn’t on Oprah and had little media attention. But PEOPLE read it. Shared it.

Believed in it. Helped me spread it. I am so grateful. To my readers.

“The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari” has now helped tens of millions of human beings live their gifts and find true joy. So my friend, trust you instincts. Let the trolls laugh. The universe always supports the ones who have faith in their dreams.

​​Oh I love the word “practice”. And how easy it is to forget that there can be no mastery without relentless, consistent and bravehearted practice (especially on the days when you don’t feel like practicing).
​​
​​Easy to forget that successful people didn’t just wake up that way. They started off ordinary – with a goal – and then focused on the daily small steps required to reach it. And as the days slipped into weeks and the weeks into months and the month into years, their dream became more alive. Each day, they practice.
​​
​​So….devote to practice.
​​
​​-practice getting up at 5 am each day. It’ll get easier (that’s what practice does).
​​-practice being more positive and passionate
​​-practice being more spectacular at what you do at work
​​-practice being kinder and more patient
​​-practice enriching your mind and knowledge base by reading for an hour each day
​​-practice balancing work and your personal life
​​-practice getting super fit
​​
​​Hope this helps you fly, in this very messy and uncertain time.

Remember these four lessons I shared earlier. They are real to me

1. Life is a gift. Enjoy it while you have it because there's no other life here for you after this

2. Set your priorities right because when you are face to face with death nothing else matters except your loved ones

3. You don't want a hopeless end neither do you want an endless hope. You want reality

4. No matter how bad the world goes, how awry life turns, there's a heaven you wouldn't want to miss and that's your family.

My friends, this simple lessons born out of experience has changed my life and can change yours too

Jim Collins in his classic "Good to Great" distinguished the level 5 leaders from hero with a thousand helpers.

The level five leaders have a blend of humility with professional will. They seek for good people put them in the right bus and figure out together where to go. They are secure in themselves and look out deliberately for people smarter than themselves. They allow expression to the full including banging the table during fierce deliberation. Easc team member respect the others and they all file out behind the decisions reached by the team.

The other type of leader he called " a hero with a thousand helpers" has no effective team. Infact he tries to undermine his followers intelligence and creativity since he is personally insecure. He is the larger than life personality apart from whom nothing works and no one gets close in influence. A hero with a thousand helpers only have employees and no partner. He is a big star among dim lights and everything revolves around him.

A company with level 5 leaders will move from good to great. It will last and grow beyond it's founder. But the company with a hero with a thousand helpers leadership will capitulate into self - destruct at a certain predictable pattern
