REALITY OF LIFE (Part 1)
You all grew up in the streets together
Attended the same primary school
Same secondary school
Sometimes, different schools
You get back home from school and dash out in the scorching sun or the rainy cloud to see your friends
You run as fast as you could before your parents or elderly ones will order you to come back and do your house chores
All in the name of friendship and the love for your friends, you still few eatable things that you need to take along and share with your friends. Especially if your mum sells them.
You know your usual Hangouts and rendezvous, sometimes, you all eat and drink together, find a cool spot, an eyesaw beside the street roads where you can stare at girls passing by. You all chat, laugh and crack jokes together.
You all talk about your dreams, life aspirations and ambitions and some of you even go to the extent of promising to help your friends when luck shines on you and life treats you well.
Months, years passes by,..
You all went separate ways,
Your parents relocated
Others lost their parents to death and they had to relocate to stay with a family member, may be an uncle or aunt,
Some spent all their life in the same town, city or village
Others were fortunate and oppotuned to travel abroad to further their studies or work.
Realities of life sets in,.
You want to keep up with the classic lifestyle but you can't
You're from a poor home
None of your elder brothers and sisters can help you financially or help you achieve your goals, because they are struggling with life too
It has Dawn on you that, only the childhood days were beautiful
Oh,!! If you had know the hurdles and ordeals waiting for you to get to adulthood, you will pray never to grow up!!
So sad
Some of your friends,.. that you all played together, ate together, slept in a room together, trekked a long distance together because you were too l broke to board a bus,
Went to shows together,
Did some menial jobs together, Now they tell you they are not your Calibre.
