In Japan, during the war, this boy was seen carrying his dead brother on his back to bury ..a soldier noticed and asked him to throw this dead child so he wouldn't get tired.

He replied: "He ain't heavy" he's my brother!..
And the soldier started crying.

Since then, this picture has become the symbol of UNITY in Japan.

Let this be our watchword: HE AIN'T HEAVY, HE'S MY BROTHER!

If your brother falls, lift him up.,if he's tired, support him,and if he's discouraged, encourage him.

This may be a strange thing to do in a world dominated by egocentric souls who only think about themselves.

We have been taught that leaders are readers but I tell you, leaders are also "reachers".

Reach out to people.
Help who you can help.
Give people the right connection.
Put smiles on somebody's face today.

"I am because you are"

PS: look for that brother or sister that's backsliding, and see if he or she can be restored instead of making them a topic of discussion.

SIXTY-ONE(61) YEARS OF AWUJALE ADETONA ON THE THRONE, TODAY!

NEVER in the history of the circa one thousand years old Ijebu Kingdom did any king reign for up to sixty years. However, AWUJALE SIKIRU KAYODE ADETONA, Ogbagba II, Paramount ruler of Ijebuland from the Anikinaiya Ruling House has broken every known record having ascended the throne on APRIL 2, 1960 thus, incredibly clocking sixty years as the monarch of Ijebu nation- a no mean feat, and still marching on in the service of his people as the custodian of their culture and tradition.

Young Prince Sikiru Adetona who personifies the attributes of Ijebu that include fierce and sturdy independence, candour, objectivity, sincerity, entrepreneurial spirit, reliability, and resoluteness was born on Thursday, May 10, 1934. He variously attended Baptist School, Ereko, Ijebu Ode; Ogbere United Primary School; and Ansar-Ud-Deen School, Ijebu Ode between 1943 and 1950. For his secondary education, he was at Olu-Iwa (now Adeola Odutola) College, Ijebu Ode from 1951 to 1956. Between 1957 and 1958 he took up appointment with the then Audit Department of the Western Region, Ibadan. The charming prince resigned his appointment in 1958, to pursue further studies in Accountancy in the United Kingdom. He left Nigeria by sea from Port Harcourt in late December 1958.

Since 1960, Oba Adetona has succeeded in raising the status and reckoning of his Ijebu people. He is known and perceived as one of the country's greatest monarchs, dead or alive. A philosopher and social scientist, his fame and popularity extend beyond the shores of Nigeria.

The revival of the Ijebu Age Grade system (known as Regberegbe, in local parlance), the building of the gigantic palace and the Ojude Oba pavilion, the novel and unique Ijebu Development Board on Poverty Reduction, the unsurpassable Awujale Adetona Professorial Chair in Good Governance at Olabisi Onabanjo University, the granting of coronets to many communities in Ijebuland are some of the everlasting legacies of Oba Adetona.

Albeit, one issue agitating the mind of this quintessential monarch is the desirability of creating an Ijebu State out of the present Ogun State, his subjects are unanimous with him in his quest. Indeed, for justice, fair play, and equity to reign in the land, the Ijebu deserve a State of theirs. Surely, at Gods own appointed time, Ijebuland would become a State.

On behalf of the good people and friends of Ijebu nation, this is a unique opportunity to salute the living legend, the great and amiable monarch as he strikes diamond on the throne of his forefathers and prepares to mark his eighty-seven birthday on May 10, 2021. May his reign continue to be peaceful, progressive, and beneficial to Ijebuland and indeed, our dear nation.

You will celebrate many more glorious years on the throne in good health.
Congratulations sir

Prior to the attempt arrest made by the DSS today at Guru Maharaji, along Ibadan/ lagos Express way.

Our sincere advice to FG is that they should be careful not to unlease the very dancing madness shut in Southerners head, looking for an opportunity to be expressed.

Why will you try an arrest on a man who has the love of his people in heart?

Why will you attempt arrest on a man whom God has raised to protect & Librate the Southerners from long time slavery?

The so called bandits are everyday kidnapping, ra**ng and killing the Easterners and Southerners but you never for once attempted an arrest on them because they are your employees in the illegitimate business sector but you decide an arrest on one agitating for the very freedom of his people.

Yoruba's are quiet, not that they are weak but because when they start, the fire in them can't be quenched easily.

My sincere advice to every Oduduwa Son's and daughters is to Arise, be of one voice to fight out common enemies.

You can never kill a man whose life is in God's hand!!!.

If you want to arrest him, then you will have to arrest millions of yoruba Nation agitator all over the world.

UPDATEOGUN GOVT SETS FOR ARTISANS’ SKILL UPGRADING

The Ogun State Government says that it is imperative to upgrade Artisans’ skill acquisitions across the State in order to meet up with the new trend of technology in the country.
The Special Adviser to the Governor on Technical Education, Prof. Joseph Odemuyiwa made this known during a general meeting held with Association of Skilled and Vocational Artisans of Nigeria (ASVAN), held at Abiola way, Abeokuta.
Odemuyiwa, in a statement signed by Board’s Press Officer, Mrs. Busayo Malaolu, explained that the skill upgrading programme would expose the artisans to modern equipment in order to grow their trades and certified them for State contracts.
The Special Adviser said that education without craftsmanship was not enough for self substance, while encouraging the undergraduates to engage in skill acquisition programme along side their studies.
In their responses Mr. Isikilu Aroyewun a plumber and Alhaja Alimat Kosoko a hairdresser appealed the State Government to engage them in building construction and some other craft works, saying that Government shun the act of bringing in outsiders for the State works.

Islamic Leaders, Traditionalists May Clash Over Oro Curfew

There is palpable fear in the Ipokia Local Government Area of Ogun State as Islamic leaders in the community have threatened a showdown with leaders of the Oro adherents over imposition of a curfew.

The traditionalists were alleged to have imposed a curfew on the people in the area as part of activities marking this year’s Oro-Orisa Oba Festival in Ipokia.

The Chief Imam of the area, Al-Imam Abdulwaliy, said the curfew contravened a court judgement and a peace pact banning such practice during the festival.

Abdulwaliy is the Chief Imam of Umar bin Khatab Mosque, Odan-Aje, behind General Hospital, Idi-Iroko.

The traditionalists in August 2019 stormed the mosque and dispersed Muslim faithful observing afternoon prayers for allegedly acting contrary to their warnings while they observed their ritual.

The traditionalists also allegedly shattered the doors and windows of the mosque.

Stakeholders in the area later met and entered into an agreement to forestall a recurrence of the incident.

Abdulwaliy, popularly known as Omoakin, said the curfew, if not reversed, could plunge the community and the state into a religious crisis.

He noted that the Oro adherents had already announced plans to hold this year’s festival in the daytime, beginning from Saturday.

He said, “It remains surprising that Oro-Orisa Oba members in Ipokia continue to pay deaf ears to different peace agreements reached between Muslims/Christians and traditional adherents in Ipokia.

“Meanwhile, a restriction order has been placed on the celebration of Oro-Orisa Oba Festival during daytime, restricting the celebration to hold between 12am and 4am.

“The judgment of the High Court of Justice, Ilaro Judicial Division (15th August 2017); High Court of Justice , Ipokia Judicial Division (30th January, 2018), peace agreements reached among religious stakeholders in Ipokia Local Government Area (August 2019 and February 2020), all condemned daytime celebration of Oro-Orisa Oba Festival.

“For peace to reign in our society, all the above stand firmly against the celebration of Oro-Orisa Oba Festival during daytime.”

Reacting to the development, the Caretaker Chairman of the council, Kabiru Abolurin, said a peace meeting had been called to address the matter on Thursday at the local government secretariat, Ipokia.

He said security agencies had also been alerted to ensure peace in the state.

LATE CHIEF GANI FAWEHINMI
When Chief Gani's 14-year old first child asked for his dad's support to go to the Nigeria Defence Academy taking the NDA's form to his father to sign, Chief Gani left the form, reached for the cane and flogged the young man for planning to join his tormentors.
From Kaduna prison to Jos prison, from Gombe prison to portharcourt prison, from Kuje prison to Ikoyi prison, Chief Gani Fawehinmi was the most jailed human right activist from Nigeria.
For raising his voice against injustice, his books were confiscated, his library set ablaze, his house and chambers were always raided and he was assaulted on Mobolaji Bank Anthony Way in Lagos by Naval officers.
His travails from security agents never dissuaded him from defending the poor and the weak in the society.
"I defended the students of University of Ibadan in 1971 when one of the students, Kunle Adepeju, was shot dead by the police under Gowon’s regime and the government of the day set up a Commission of enquiry headed by Justice B. O. Kazim and I represented the students for 5 months in that tribunal of enquiry. In 1976, I defended the students of University of Benin against the wrath of the military government. In 1983, under Shehu Shagari, there was a peaceful demonstration by more than 4000 students of the University of Maiduguri against the misdirected high handedness of the leadership of Professor Jubril Aminu, (former Nigerian Ambassador to the U.S.) Several students were expelled and their education illegally truncated. I fought to the Supreme Court to obtain victory. This is just to mention few of my struggles for justice." Gani recalled.
They always came for him. He was arrested on his 50th birthday.
"I witnessed one of the times they came to arrest him in the house. They were about armed 20 policemen. It was as if they were coming to take a criminal and they brought a big Black Maria. He told them, ‘Gentlemen how are you? Are you ready?’ He told my mum to take care of us and he followed them" His daughter, Idiat recalled.
Due to incessant arrest Chief Gani always kept a bag with toothpaste, toothbrush and the Qur'an with him-always ready for jail.
When he was asked the possibility of defending Ralph Uwazurike he said:
"If am approached by Uwazurike to take up his case, I will fly straight to wherever he is or, if I cannot go there by air, I will go there by road. If I cannot go there by road, I will trek to defend his right to hold an opinion because freedom of speech is a fundamental right. Because he has the right to pursue any objective and if they feel that his objective is criminal, then he has the right to defend himself in the court of law and we shall defend the issue of his fundamental rights".
The incorruptible Chief Gani was able to speak truth to powers because he had nothing to hide. He once said;
"I have never got any contracts from any local government, state government or from federal government. I don’t even know the house of ministers. I never met any Head of State in my life. I’ve never met any minister in my life. I’ve never submitted any application for contract anywhere in my life. I have never submitted any application for contract at any level whatsoever."
Chief Gani was Unbiased, detribalized and unsentimental patriot. When his own daughter was working in his Chambers, she either resumed before/at 7am or be locked outside the gate like any latecomer.
Chief Gani's lung began to deteriorate while doctors were busy focusing on his heart and blood pressure. It got so bad that he called his cardiologist, Dr Mike Fadayomi, his childhood friend from the age of four. He is one of the best cardiologist in this world. He directed Chief Gani to a radiologist to do the X-ray first. When he (radiologist) came with the wet X-ray and showed it to Gani and Fadayomi, the cardiologist shouted;
"Gani something dangerous is wrong with your left lung. You must run to London. I don't understand this"
When Chief Gani got to London the doctors told him that he was among the 5% patients in the world who don't smoke or drink and yet had lung cancer.
Gani narrated his ordeals to the doctors in London and one of them hinted that his "horrible detention" must have triggered the lung failure.
The human right activist was asked to prepare for the worst and Gani wept.
To prevent politicians from "hijacking" his burial, Gani bought his casket while alive and made cash available for his funeral with instructions to his children about how he liked his funeral to be.
Chief Gani Fawehinmi literally lost his voice to the ravaging lung cancer before his Sun finally set on 9th September 2009. And Nigeria hasn't been able to find a replacement for that voice of justice and courage till date.
Let's celebrate another selfless Nigerian
A legal icon
A symbol of justice
And OUR HERO.

We’ll Protect Ourselves From Fulani Herdsmen If Buhari, Abiodun Fail To Do So—Ogun Monarch
The marauding herdsmen had invaded the village close to Eggua shooting sporadically and setting ablaze three houses and storehouses

The Olu of Ilaro and Paramount Ruler of Yewaland, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle, in Ogun State has warned the Nigerian and state governments against possible consequences of the killing of people in Yewaland by Fulani herdsmen.

Some suspected herdsmen had, on Friday night, invaded Igbooro, Oja-Odan in the Yewa North Local Government Area of the state, leaving three dead and two villagers injured.

The marauding herdsmen had reportedly invaded the village close to Eggua in Oja-Odan around 11pm, shooting sporadically and setting ablaze three houses and storehouses in the village.

In the latest killing, a mother and her child were among the three persons hacked to death in their huts, while two persons were said to be in critical condition after they were shot by the herdsmen.

It was also learnt that many people, including children, sustained injuries.

The attack came barely 24 hours after five persons were killed in Owode Ketu.

In response, the monarch condemned the killings in a statement on Saturday titled, ‘Stopping the time bomb before it is too late,’ addressed to President Muhammadu Buhari and Governor Dapo Abiodun.

The monarch warned that the people might resort to self-defence if the governments failed to be proactive.

Oba Olugbenle, who described the activities of the herdsmen as criminal and dangerous, said they had wreaked havoc on many Yewaland communities, including Egua, Oja-Odan, Igan-Alade, Gbokoto, Ijoun, Owode-ketu, Ebute, Igbooro, and Imeko-Afon with reports of plans to attack major towns in the kingdom.

The statement read in part, “The attention of the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Muhammadu Buhari, and all the security agencies is drawn to the continued siege of the entire Yewaland of Ogun State in the last few weeks by armed herdsmen and bandits callously killing, including literally slaughtering and maiming our people.

“The Federal Government and the Ogun State government are hereby implored, as a matter of extreme urgency, to act fast to secure the lives and property of our people before it spirals out of complete control.

“In this situation, it is not out of place that people may resort to self-help to defend themselves if the government fails to guarantee their safety as citizens of Nigeria in the face of renewed insurgency by these criminals terrorising our people with arms and dangerous weapons.”
