🚨 OGUN POLICE TO ARRAIGN THREE TODAY OVER ALLEGED ASSAULT, OBSTRUCTION OF OFFICERS

The Ogun State Police Command will today arraign three suspects before the Ago-Iwoye Magistrate Court over the alleged obstruction and assault of police officers performing their lawful duties.

The suspects are Alaba Mulika, 51; Alawode Iyanu, 21; and Temitope Saliu, 29.

According to the Command, the incident occurred on September 29, 2026, when police officers intercepted an unregistered Toyota Camry at Fibigbade Street, Ago-Iwoye.

Police said a Toyota Highlander allegedly blocked the police vehicle while the Camry was being taken to the station, leading to a physical confrontation during which INSPR Abolarinwa Wasiu and CPL Olubamiro Adeniyi were allegedly assaulted.

Following an investigation ordered by CP Bode Ojajuni, detectives visited the scene and arrested the three suspects.

They are expected to face five counts bordering on conspiracy, obstruction of police officers, alleged serious assault and conduct likely to cause a breach of peace.

🚨 OGUN POLICE ARREST SUSPECTED ₦2.5M FRAUDSTER, RECOVER 25 ATM CARDS, 25 PHONES & 16 SIM CARDS

The Ogun State Police Command has arrested Tony Ameachi, 45, in connection with an alleged ₦2.5 million fraud involving the purchase of deep freezers.

According to the Command, the investigation began in April 2026 after a woman transferred ₦2.5 million for goods advertised online, but the deep freezers were never delivered and the seller stopped responding.

Detectives reportedly traced and arrested Ameachi in Ojo, Lagos State, on September 22, 2026.

A search allegedly led to the recovery of 25 ATM cards, 25 mobile phones and 16 SIM cards.

Police said further investigation is being conducted to establish the relevance of the recovered items, determine whether they are linked to other alleged fraudulent transactions and identify other persons who may be connected to the case.

The suspect, case file and exhibits have been transferred to the SCID, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation. Police said the suspect will be charged to court upon completion of the investigation.

The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has urged Nigerians to embrace responsible citizenship, integrity, discipline and purposeful leadership as the nation marks its 66th Independence Anniversary.

CP Ojajuni made the call at an Independence Day celebration organised by the International Friendship League (IFL) at the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta, themed “Nigeria at 66: A Call to Citizenship Transformation.”

Speaking at the symposium, the CP stressed that today’s decisions, conduct and values will shape the future of generations yet unborn, urging Nigerians to preserve knowledge, national values and a strong culture of service.

He identified integrity, discipline, knowledge, service and respect for shared values as important to national development, while calling on citizens to renew their commitment to the Nigeria project.

🚨 LAGOS POLICE SERGEANT DI£S AFTER BEING DRAGGED UNDER VEHICLE DURING STOP-AND-SEARCH
A Lagos Police Sergeant, Johnson Okediji, has died after he was allegedly knocked down and dragged underneath a vehicle during a stop-and-search operation in Egbeda, Lagos.
The incident occurred on Saturday, September 26, along Olugbede Street, when officers reportedly flagged down a Lexus ES 350, registration number FKJ 223 KX, driven by 21-year-old Olumide Olusola.
According to the Lagos State Commissioner of Police, CP Tijani Fatai, the driver initially stopped but allegedly accelerated as Sergeant Okediji approached the driver's side, knocking him down and dragging him for several metres.
The officer sustained multiple fractures and serious head injuries. He was rushed to hospital and later referred to LASUTH, where he was pronounced dead on arrival. His remains were deposited at Mainland Hospital Mortuary for preservation and autopsy.
The driver was arrested and the vehicle recovered. During his parade, Olusola reportedly claimed that the vehicle's brakes failed and that he did not intentionally kill the officer. That explanation has not been independently established, and the circumstances remain under investigation.

🚨 OGUN POLICE BEGINS EARLY SECURITY PREPARATION FOR 2027 ELECTIONS
The Ogun State Police Command has commenced a two-day stakeholders’ workshop on “Elections, Security, the Law, Stakeholders & the Media” as part of early preparations for the 2027 General Elections.
The workshop, held in Abeokuta, brought together the Police, INEC, other security agencies, political parties, the media, legal professionals, human rights organisations, civil society groups and community stakeholders.
Speaking at the opening, CP Bode Ojajuni stressed that election security is not an election-day assignment, calling for early preparation, professionalism, political neutrality, effective intelligence sharing, respect for fundamental rights and strong coordination among stakeholders.
Governor Dapo Abiodun, represented by his Special Adviser on Security, also urged security personnel to maintain professionalism and impartiality throughout the electoral process.
The workshop continues tomorrow with further sessions on election security, stakeholder responsibilities, community engagement, media relations and social media management.

🚨 OGUN CP HONOURS 39 POLICE OFFICERS FOR MERITORIOUS SERVICE
The Commissioner of Police, Ogun State Command, CP Bode Ojajuni, has honoured 39 police officers — 5 retired and 34 serving — with the Commissioner of Police’s Commendations and Awards.
The ceremony held on Monday, September 28, 2026, at the Police Officers’ Mess, Ibara Housing Estate, Abeokuta, recognised officers for their dedication, professionalism, sacrifice and meritorious service to the Nigeria Police Force and the public.
Among the retired officers honoured were CSP Salami Akanbi Moruf, DSP Olaifa Emmanuel, DSP Ayanlola Olatunji, DST Saanu John and DST Anifa Bello.

🚨 OGUN POLICE RECORD MULTIPLE SUCCESSES IN 11 DAYS
The Ogun State Police Command says it recorded multiple operational successes between September 16 and 26, 2026, with 11 suspects arrested, two suspected stolen vehicles recovered, three fi****ms and 25 ATM cards recovered, while eight vehicles were impounded for traffic obstruction.
According to the Command, the operations covered Owode Egba, Olorunda, Dalemo/Ota, Igbesa, Ijebu-Ode and Sagamu.
Among the major breakthroughs were the recovery of a stolen motorcycle and a suspected stolen Safira vehicle, arrests linked to suspected vehicle theft and burglary, and the recovery of 25 ATM cards and several mobile phones in an alleged ₦2.5 million fraud case.
SWAT operatives also arrested suspects in connection with a suspected cult-related gathering and recovered one pump-action r***e and two locally made pistols.
In Sagamu, eight vehicles were impounded during a “No Parking” enforcement operation around the Sagamu Interchange Bridge for allegedly obstructing traffic.
The Commissioner of Police, CP Bode Ojajuni, commended the officers for their vigilance and professionalism and urged residents to continue providing credible information to the Police.

🚨 UPDATE: POLICE ARREST 43-YEAR-OLD SUSPECT OVER MOWE NEIGHBOUR’S DEATH
The Ogun State Police Command has arrested 43-year-old Edebiri Temitope, who was earlier reported to be at large, in connection with the death of 38-year-old Oje Michael Eje in Mowe, Ogun State.
The deceased, a university graduate with a degree in Guidance and Counselling, reportedly died after an alleged altercation with the suspect over his interaction with the suspect’s three-year-old child.
Police had earlier reported that the suspect allegedly used a bamboo stick to repeatedly hit Eje, who subsequently collapsed and died.
The suspect has now been transferred to the State CID, Eleweran, Abeokuta, for further investigation.
Investigation is ongoing to establish the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
The suspect remains innocent until proven guilty by a court of law.
