Part 3
Blessing wishes she could disown her parents, because they were not making all her efforts successful. At times she will starve herself just to provide for them and also take up the responsibility of her younger ones education. She had her daughter unplanned for through the process of having money. The situation was something she didn’t like to remember or talked about but she was grateful to have her daughter with her.
“You just have to forgive us because it wasn’t intentional. We have been day worrying about you. Most especially your daughter, she doesn’t sleep on time because she didn’t see you.” Her mother said.
“I know you have been trying my daughter. You should know my condition is what is keeping me idle. If not, you know I am not a lazy father.”
“Which condition? (Stood up at him) So your fractured left leg is such a big thing that stop you from doing your responsibilities as a husband and father in this house, ehn. Is it not the same leg you used to go to your sporty center. Answer me na”.
“See this woman, your problem I don’t know. If not that you are not even ashamed. Your mate (housewife) are out there to support their husband with the little they have. But you, what do you have? Nothing, absolutely nothing. Always depending on your daughter, I mean my daughter. But you have time to be going to women’s meeting here and there. Chio!”.
Blessing watch her parents for a moment arguing with one another. It wasn’t the first time she would witness it. She has been enduring all their nagging and quarrel for the past 15 years, so it means nothing to her. In other not to add more to the pain she was going through, she left them and entered her room.
She took out the envelope containing the cash and brought them out. She opened her mouth in amazement when she saw Dollars.
“Ewooooo”. She screamed and shup up immediately from alerting her parents. “Could this be blessing in disguise. Omo (holding the money) or is my eyes deceiving me. So na rich man hit me.” She jumped up excitedly, praying for the person and thanking God for making the incident happened.
JOHN
He woke up very famished, he look so tired and exhausted. He went to the kitchen and sighed due to the emptiness. He knew he couldn’t stay alone forever. He needed a maid to make him food. At least some different taste apart from what he others all the time.
“But how do I get one? Or should I call Sophia to come over and cook for me. At least it has been two years we have been together, she should even try to prepare me food. Well, I haven’t asked her for it. Maybe I should call her.”
He took his phone and dialed Sophia line but it was not rechargeable. He got fed up and returned to the living room, sat on the sofa while starring at the blank TV.
“Or should I hire a robot, at least things are getting advanced now.” He thought within from left to right.

Days after she was fully healed. She took her siblings and daughter for shopping. She stock the house with foodstuffs and also paid her siblings remaining school fees she was owing. Her parents were really happy, appraising their daughter almost everyday. She then sat down to think of what to do with the remaining money. She concluded to put some in co-operative and also get a stall by the road side where she can start indomie business along any other thing that then comes to her mind.
“All I have left shouldn’t be less than 550 thousand if I change it to Naira. Okay, thank God I have better things to do now.” She said to herself happily and kept the remaining money under her bed.
JOHN
He was happy to take Sophia home with him just for her to Cook for him but she turned his expectations to dismayed.
“You must be joking babe (chuckling) how do you expect me to cook with this beautiful nails of mine. Don’t tell me you are serious about it?”.
He stares at her confusingly and asked if truly she meant what she said.
“Of course! You’re funny babe. So you think I will cook when we finally married. Hell no! Come on, that’s never happening. Why looking at me like moron”. She laughed out.
“So you won’t cook?”. He asked.
“Are you deaf, didn’t you hear me.” She replied, frowning and he smiled pretentiously.
BLESSING
She returned home from the market after getting ingredients to cook dinner. When she and her mother finished cooking, they all ate and she played with everyone. They all gisted, laughed and had a happy evening discussion until things became sour for her. When she wanted to sleep, she decided to get prepared against the next day on how to go about everything she wanted to do. She stretched her hand under her bed and pulled out the saving box she had and her eyes fell on empty space. Her heart sank immediately. Her joy disappeared instantly, her hands trembling in confusion.
“What is going on?”. She asked herself continuously, scattering the box. Look under her bed, raising her bed and looking everywhere as if looking for a pin. She grabbed her head instantly..
“The money is gone! The money is not here. Where is it? Where did it go. Eh God, God please help me. No, I kept it here na. It was here. Yes, it was here”. She talked to herself in frustration, looking around like a lost soul.
