I Am Not a Politician – I’m Just a Big Fan of Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi
Let me make something clear from the outset: I am not a politician. I am not seeking office, I am not campaigning, and I do not belong to any political party structure. I do not owe loyalty to any party banner. My voice and my convictions are my own shaped by what I have seen, what I believe, and the character of the people I choose to admire.
But if you see me publicly supporting Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi, speaking his name with respect, or sharing his achievements with pride, do not mistake that for politics. It is admiration genuine, heartfelt admiration for a man who has shown consistency, competence, and uncommon integrity in public service.
Why Senator Yayi?
Senator Olamilekan Adeola, popularly known as Yayi, is more than just a politician to many of us he is a symbol of responsible leadership, a proof that a public office holder can still be deeply connected to the people. He is a man who rose through the ranks, and now serving Ogun West with that same energy, humility, and dedication.
His track record speaks loudly:
• Infrastructure: He doesn’t just promise roads, schools, and hospitals. He delivers them.
• Empowerment: From women to youth, artisans to traders, Yayi has built programs that touch real lives.
• Accessibility: He is not one of those politicians you only see during campaigns. Yayi is present. He listens. He returns to the people. You don’t need to “know someone” to access his kindness.
• Experience with Wisdom: He brings the sharp understanding of Lagos’ complex governance and blends it with a deep sense of identity and culture in Ogun.
It’s Not About Politics — It’s About Principles
In a time when many in public office seem far removed from the grassroots, Yayi reminds us of the old values — the era when leaders were fathers of the people, not just officeholders. When respect was earned through work, not propaganda. When politicians would rather sacrifice comfort to build for their people than enjoy the luxury of office in silence.
That is what I admire. That is what I support.
Supporting Yayi doesn’t make me a politician. It makes me a citizen who refuses to be blind to good work. It makes me someone who believes that excellence should be recognized, whether or not there’s something to gain from it.
A Good Man is a Good Man
In Yoruba land, we have a saying: “Bí a bá rí òdodo, ká sọ pé òdodo ni.” (When we see truth, we should call it truth.) That is exactly what I’m doing here. Senator Yayi is a good man not perfect, but deeply committed, approachable, and effective. That alone deserves appreciation.
So, let nobody twist the narrative. I’m not lobbying. I’m not campaigning. I’m not eyeing a political future. I simply stand with a man who has stood for his people — and I do so proudly, openly, and without shame.
This is more than politics. This is personal.
Senator Olamilekan Adeola Yayi I see your work. I acknowledge it. And I celebrate it.
Respectfully,
A Proud Supporter
A Grateful Citizen
