Story On Bravery And Courage:

One cowardly person came to a master of martial arts and asked to teach him bravery. The master looked at him and said:

I will teach you only with one condition: one month you will have to live in a big city and tell every person that you meet on your way that you are a coward. You will have to say it loudly, openly and looking straight into the person’s eyes.

The person got really sad, because this task seemed very scary to him. For a couple of days he was very sad and thoughtful, but to live with his cowardice was so unbearable that he travelled to the city to accomplish his mission.

At first, when meeting the passers, he quailed, lost his speech and couldn’t contact anyone. But he needed to finish the master’s task, so he began to overcome himself. When he came up to his first passer to tell about his cowardice, it seemed to him that he would die from fear. But his voice sounded louder and more confident with every passing day. Suddenly came a moment, when the man caught himself thinking that he’s not scared anymore, and the further he continued doing the master’s task, the more convinced he was that the fear was abandoning him. That way a month had passed. The person came back to the master, bowed to him and said:

Thank you, teacher. I finished your task. Now I’m not afraid anymore. But how did you know that this strange task will help me?

The thing is that cowardice is only a habit. And by doing the things that scare us, we can destroy the stereotypes and come to a conclusion that you came to. And now you know that bravery – is also a habit. And if you want to make bravery a part of yourself- you need to move forward into the fear. Then the fear will go away, and bravery will take its place.

Union Is Strength

There was an old farmer who lived in a village. He had four sons, o were lazy and idle. They often quarreled among themselves. The old man was very much annoyed with it.

So he called his four sons and told them that since his end was near, he wanted to teach them a lesson. So he told them that since his end was near, he wanted to give them a useful piece of advice.

He sent for a bundle of sticks, it was brought. He asked all his sons turn by turn to break the bundle of the sticks. All tried hard, but none of them was able to break the bundle.

Then he asked one of them to untie the-bundle. This was also done immediately. Then he asked each of them to break the sticks individually. Now each one succeeded in doing so.

The old farmer then said to them, "If you live together in peace, none can harm you. But if you are divided, you will lose."

Real Solution to Problems

A group of employees was working in a software company. It was a team of 30 employees. This was a young, energetic and dynamic team with keen enthusiasm and desire to learn and grow. The management decided to teach the employees about finding real solution to the problems.

The team was called to play a game in a banquet hall. The group was quite surprised as they were called for playing game. All reached the venue holding various thoughts. As they entered the hall, they found the hall decorated beautifully with colourful decorative papers and balloons all over the place. It was more like a kid's play area, than a corporate meeting hall.

Everyone was surprised and gazed at each other. Also, there was a huge box of balloons placed at the centre of the hall.

The team leader asked everyone to pick a balloon from the box and asked them to blow it. Every one happily picked a balloon and blew it.

Then the team leader asked them to write their names on their balloon, carefully so that the balloons didn't blow up. All tried to write their names on the balloons, but not everyone was successful. A few balloons blew up due to pressure and they were given another chance to use another balloon.

Those who failed to mark their names even after the second chance were ruled out of the game. After the second chance, 25 employees were qualified for the next level. All the balloons were collected and then put into a room.

The team leader announced the employees to go to the room and pick the same balloon that had his name on it. Also, he told them that no balloon should blow up and warned them to be very careful!

All 25 employees reached the room, where the balloons carrying their names were thrown here and there. They were searching for the respective balloons carrying their names. While they were in a rush to find the respective balloons, they tried not to burst the balloons.

Read more in my comment section.

Once there was a man in a village. He was called by villagers a coward because of his lack of courage.

The man then decided to change himself.

So, he visited a spiritual master in his village to teach him courage and bravery.

Master said, “I am ready to teach you but on one condition. You need to go and live in a big city for one month.

And during the stay, tell every person you meet there, You are a coward.

When you tell, you have to say it loudly, openly, and look straight into the eyes of the person.

After that, come back here.”

The man returned home and was thinking about the task. He was scared. He kept on thinking about it for some days.

Then he decided to travel to the city instead of living his entire life as a coward, which is unbearable.

In the initial days in the city, he could not talk to anyone.

Whenever he tried, he could not see the face and talk, or sometimes no words came out of his mouth.

He felt like he is going to die out of fear.

As the days passed, he pushed himself to finish the task.

He started talking to people.

As every passing day, his voice sounded louder, his eye contact with the person improved. His body was responding without any shivering.

One day he felt that he was not scared anymore to talk to people. Then he continued doing the task till the end of the month.

He returned to his village and met his Master.

He said, “Master, I finished the task. Now I do not have fear. I feel I can do anything with courage.

But I have one question.

What made you think this task will help me overcome cowardice?”

Master replied, “Being a coward is a habit. If you want to come out of this habit, you have to do things that scare you.

That is what you did. As a result, you have replaced your cowardice with the habit of courage.

So, similarly, if you have any bad habit that you want to change. Replace the bad habit with a good one.”

Money Can't Buy Everything:

Nick was a 10 year old boy. He was the only son to his parents. Nick's father was a very busy businessman who could not spend time with his son. He came home after Nick slept, and was off to office before Nick woke up in the morning. Nick yearned for his father's attention. He wanted to go outdoors and play with his father just like his friends did.

One day, Nick was surprised to see his father at home in the evening.

"Dad, it is a big surprise to see you at home," Nick said.

"Yes son, my meeting was cancelled. So I'm at home. But after two hours I have to catch a flight," his father replied.

"When will you be back?"

"Tomorrow noon."

Nick was in deep thought for a while. Then he asked, "Dad, how much do you earn in a year?"

Nick's father was taken aback. He said, "My dear son, it's a very big amount and you won't be able to understand it."

"Ok dad, are you happy with the amount you earn?"

"Yes my dear. I'm very happy, and in fact I'm planning to launch our new branch and a new business in a few months. Isn't that great?"

"Yes, dad. I'm happy to hear that. Can I ask you one more question?"

"Yes, dear."

"Dad, can you tell me how much you earn in a day or even half a day?"

"Nick, why are you asking this question?" Nick's father was perplexed.

But Nick was persistent. "Please answer me. Can you please tell me how much you earn in an hour?"

Nick's father gave in and replied, "It will be around $ 25/- per hour."

Nick ran to his room upstairs, and came down with his piggy bank that contained his savings.

"Dad, I have $50 in my piggy bank. Can you spare two hours for me? I want to go to the beach and have dinner with you tomorrow evening. Can you please mark this in your schedule?"

Nick's father was speechless!

The greatest gift a parent can give his child is time. Money can't buy everything!
