FLOOD IN THE NIGER

The Sun stands still sobering in Sadness
The Moon moans in a mourning wretchedness
And the Rain of hunger, devastation and sorrow
Floods the Niger like a mysterious arrow

The Niger is besieged by flood
The Niger is inundated with darkness
Our Happiness consumed with sadness
And a despondent voice echoing from the Niger
The wailing of shattered-scattered children who are in Danger

It was pitch black when the waters came, forcing the mothers and their children to jump on expedient boats that could sail even on top of the mountains as waters enfold the roofs of skyscrapers to flee their houses

There is a terrific flood in Niger
Many, living in dire conditions in IDP centers
In schools now crowded with more than
A thousand people, displaced by the country's worst flood ever than that of Noah in a decade.

We were afraid to die in the water, Many cried out, Even though we are surrounded by other families, Here, We have nothing, Not enough food, no diapers, no mosquito nets, and no attention! no peace of mind

The Niger Rivers are in Melancholy like
The Dead Sea, Our Strength in an unholy attrition
Our Dignity in Ignominiously unworthiness
Our Pride in a mortifying humiliation, Oh! No
this is not happening, what a night of calamity has befallen us

Those who once fed others are now being fed by remnants even at a bare minimum, The Niger is in deep pain, Oh! Now, I know Starvation lives with us
Ravaging the land like a holocaust of Egypt, Our Ship is sinking in severity, Our Carcass, and blood
Litter on the street

Nigeria is bitterly grieving in pains
Her children desecrated, besmirched, and ravished her Mother, Nigeria is hemorrhaging in anguish
The vipers have bare their fangs
Trapping Nigerians like a cobweb
Mother, let me grieve with you

How long shall I grieve, I will grieve no more
Even though my heart is still agonizing
My soul is sick with faceless marauders
I shall go and rest, hoping for a solution to come

Though, I am thirsty and anxious for Peace to return to Niger, For I long to see A new Nigeria with a new
Seal of consolation of tranquility and of progress. Dear people of the Niger, be still, the phrase will be over, and we will rejoice in victory.

Deacon_Famous, Yes, the viral and globally loved skit-maker, who is otherwise known as BUSH FATHER.

I knew him, I swear down, he was an ambassador of change, and a great developmental driver at Delta State University, Abraka. Believe me, this down-to-earth Young man once came to DELSU where he created indelible landmarks, and an incredible niche and caused a stir, while positively influencing policies and decisions of the management for the common good and interest of all through his jokes.

We enjoyed our stay in Delsu, because of men like Deacon Famous, nothing like steady increments in tuition fees. Before you could even think of it, not talk of concluding the plans, Oga Famous is already aware, he tackles the plans immediately as it drops with great energy, beta sincerity, and vigor, even when other comedians on campus technically shy away and refrain from joining him, on the excuse of I don’t want to lose my admission.

The funny part of the whole dilemma is that when they even try to add one or more strangely fees to the list of school fees breakdown unannounced, or quietly, Famous will call out the VC or his equivalent in the middle of an important event, when the hall must have been filled to the brim with students and staffs to explain the “why” and ”how” the fees got into the breakdown.

Don’t want to bore you guys with too many stories are, but I just want you all to know that Deacon Famous has always been a voice, and remains a voice and his new status hasn’t changed his undying love for humanity. I just want to know that he has been a no-nonsense man, ever ready to fight against the ills of society with his gifts.

Do you know?
Do you also agree with me? That and that!

Deacon Famous is a visionary and selfless leader whose headstrong approach missed with the passion to achieve whatever he’s set out to accomplish is remarkable and inspirational to many of us, who seek and aspires to achieve our goals and ambitions in life.

Deacon only has not seamlessly adapted to address part of the persistent challenges that we face in our Nation, via his skit series, “The Bush Father” where individuals come to make confessions, afterwards he condemned their acts, offers corrective gauges, and prayers of forgiveness, he has also strived to make things better for the common good of all with new strategies and such an unfaltering devotion.

Over time, He has always been farsighted and has zero tolerance for procrastination, which has always fetched him outstanding results. Of course, He is a business-oriented personality, whom no doubt is deeply blessed with problem-solving capabilities. Interestingly, the Famous I know is a man of many battles and many victories even though, many of these battles were inessential and unnecessary.

I tell you today, Just like a golden fish with no hiding place, Famous’s sterling representation and great contributions to the growth and development of the Nations and in the lives of people have rumbled all over the African continent, and beyond its shores, as his enthusiasm for service to humanity from a standpoint of strength is simply infectious.

WE FEED FROM THE BARE MINIMUM

Eyela Efe Kevin

Have you asked why, we are still faced with an unapologetic situation in our country, where, we the masses labor only for a privileged few to enjoy and card away with all the dividends?

Find below, the awful nightmare of how we've been feeding from a bare minimum of our nation's wealth and the rewards of the labor of our hands.

Many Young graduates, men, and women who made exceptional grades from the University and had good track records of excellencies have been tactically reduced to media aides to the same gullible people who had stolen the wealth of us all.

What about the brilliant, technocrats and innovative
young minds who have been lured by these selfish politicians of ours, into working up the last atom of strength they have in serving them, and the very instant their usefulness is no longer needed, they’re treated with reckless abandonment, placed on relegations, and forgotten.

The question remains;

Is it that our politicians are so poor that they cannot afford a decent life for all those who have worked with and for them faithfully and of course all those who are directly or indirectly placed under their jurisdiction and care?

The answer is No! They are sickly rich, they are more than able and capable of affording befitting life in abundance to an enormously greater number of people even than the number of those working with and for them currently.

All of this keeps happening to us because what was meant for every one of us is being stolen and taken away as loots by one man and some men who hide under the canopy of “Leaders” Representatives” or what have you.

If only we can come together with one voice and remove these evil leaders and cruel politicians of ours from seats through our votes, and not allow them to buy us over with their penniless pennies, only then, we can boldly say the root cause of hardship, hunger, poverty, and underdevelopment in our region is puzzled out forever.

I think by now, you should have come to the realization, that all the problems we are facing in our great nation, were sprung up from the tyranny and the wickedness of our kinsmen who many happened to be our leaders!

Most times, They set our children, the youths, and our women whom many are our mothers to work for them, particularly in this period of elections, and in return, they give back to them the bare minimum that will only prevent them from starving to death and the rest they keep for themselves and families.

This is the irony of the life, we come to find ourselves in, in that we were raised, solely to survive and feed on the bare minimum from that which ought to be our birthrights and entitlement as freeborn in the land. But then, we can change the narrative today, so our children won’t have to suffer the same fate.

Must we work night and day, body and soul, only for a group of people known as the political class to share our loots and rewards using divide and rule? Anytime, they’ll gather, it’s to deliberate on how to keep on elongating our sufferings while bettering their lives and that of their families.

I herewith remind you all, my fellow Africans, and Nigerians, that we are the electorates, and as such, we own the Mandate, if we can guide it jealously with diligence, and collectively agree to give it to the capable hands and individuals among us, then we are assured of true liberty, good governance and the dividends of democracy.

We must begin a march to take back our Mandate, and give it to those we can trust, those who can lead to Cana, though we can’t say when that will happen, it might be tomorrow, a week later, or even 1 more decade to come, but I’m so positive about it coming to pass, let us all fix our eyes on it and work towards it.

The coming year is a time to fight like we are about to lose our last strength so that the generations to come won’t go through the same uncertainty as ours, let us take the bullets for them. I know many are expecting me to at this point, give hints on who to vote for by 2023, nonetheless, I have not come to peddle the candidate to vote for to you but to remind you of our journey so far, and that will guide you on who merits your votes.

Remember, our votes carry the solutions to our problems, being it insecurities, hardship, bad roads, poverty, corruption, inaccessibility to quality health care, standard education, etc. Whoever is believed to possess the ability to resolve the aforesaid, if not all, but to a greater extent.

Nigerians, look backward and inward, search your hearts and consciousness diligently, Does that man you’re intending to give your mandate, support, and vote to in the name of the party’s supreme, truly merit it?

I am a batch `C’ 2021 Corps member, and earlier yesterday, donated the underlined NYSC Personal Community Development projects to the people of Omu-Aran, Kwara State, where I’m currently serving.

1. I constructed for them, three(3) Incinerators/Refuse Dumps for effective waste management in the Community which is divided into three sub-communities, of which each of the sub-communities had one, we have IFAJA, IHAYE, AND ARAN WARDS.

2. I also gave out 100 Insecticidal nets to the nursing mothers, pregnant women, etc to help combat the negative widespread of malaria in rural communities.

3. Sets of uniforms to 30 indigent Students of Government Secondary and Ansarul Islam Secondary Schools, both in Omu-Aran.

4. 200 exercise notebooks to JSS Students of Ofe-Aran Commercial College, OGBO Grammar School etc, as back to school motivation.

5. Finally, I made payment for the tuition fees fof 5 Students in Ofe-Aran Commercial College.

Before I came for service, I have always seen corps members executing projects, so when I came here, I met with the traditional ruler, and council of Chiefs on a separate grounds, I saw this place and felt it is extra work to give back to the community. I am happy my dream came to reality.”

All of these projects are part of my personal community development service and I see them as a way of contributing my own quota to the development of the rural communities with a focus to give back to the communities where my place of primary assignment is.

So you know, all the items/projects costs me about N835, 000, 00 and I’m glad that the community stakeholders where instrumental in ensuring the reality of the aforesaid projects, as they gave their best, being it in cash or in kind.

The gesture is aimed at enabling the students to acquire education with relative ease as well as help in reducing the downward trend of the standard of education, in our societies and country.

I truly wish to urge wealthy Nigerians, Africans etc, to support in complementing the efforts of the government in funding education at all levels.

I did my primary assignment with Ofe-Aran Commercial College in Kwara, and I always preach to them, particularly my students that education is the bedrock for any meaningful socio-economic development in any nation.

The State Coordinator, of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC), Mrs. Francisca Olaleye who was represented by The Zonal Inspector of Irepodun Zone, Mr. Nimyel Samuel commended me for the great strides.

Then, my Local Government Inspector, Dr. (Mrs). Fehintola Asa, affirmed that the scheme was introduced to help in solving identified problems in respective host communities of corps members during their service year.

On his part, the representative of the Royal Palace, High Chief Peter Bamigboye (Aro Ana of Omu-Aran) said that I’m a great source of inspiration & a perfect model for the younger generation to emulate.

BE A PROBLEM SOLVER!

“PROFILING SOLUTIONS TO SOCIETAL PROBLEMS IS CERTAINLY MUCH MORE NEEDED THAN ACQUIRING MORE SKILLS AND CERTIFICATES WITHOUT FRUITFUL RESULTS”

I would begin by asking, WHAT PROBLEM CAN YOU SOLVE?

Over the years, You've always wanted to finish strong and sound from a University, someday you did it. Kudos!

You proceeded to also learn this skill, and that skill, get this certification and that certification, this honorary award and that award, Wow, at least let’s give you a round of applause!

However, in the same field you're in today, are you aware, that there are people who don't know as much as you do and are even way younger than you are but are already doing great stuffs with the little they know?

You go online and you see people getting creative with the same skill you upgraded from years ago and you're blown away!🤯

Do you know that, the same bad motor tyres that we burn every Christmas night is what someone turned into furniture business and they are already gaining global attention, Kindly ask Favor Ejovwo for more.

Off course, you and I know that, Inter-cities down to Inter-States bus transportation business has always been there but from nowhere “God is Good Motors” came into the picture, and have today set a new standard in the transportation industry, bringing in new discoveries, and becoming a new inspiration to travelers.

Consequently, Taxi and cab services has always been there for ages now, Suddenly, Uber came in and set a new standard thus becoming an inspiration to many like bolt and In-Driver, etc.

My point is crystal clear!

It's not more skills or degrees that is most needed, What is needed is for you to grow wide and get creative in your thinking.

That is, while you are trying to look for "fresh-never-used" skills and diplomae, also try as much as possible to look around and ask yourself, how can I improve the existing realities or system? What problems can I solve?

Rather than killing yourself, acquiring this and that, why not sit down and ask yourself this question: with what I already know, what problem can I solve?

People will start paying you massively and the world will celebrate you for "solving problems".

You're a Bsc holder, Masters Holder, Ph.D. holder, or even a Professor, good, But the real question is:

What problem can you solve?

What problem is your skill or certifications solving?

Or are you waiting for new inventions to spring up right under your nose and then all you keep doing is jump on it?

You see, more important than what you know is what you do with what you know. It's not more skills you need, get creative in your thinking.

Monday

One of the greatest compliment that anyone can give you is to say “you are different”.

One way to stand head and shoulders above the crowd is to choose to do ordinary things in an extraordinary way with great enthusiasm.

Majority rule is not always right. People who belong to a group tend to agree on courses of action which they as individuals know are not right.

Do not be persuaded or dissuaded by group opinions. It makes no difference if you always believe what others believe.

Never take direction for your personal life from a crowd. Never choose to quit because someone disagrees with you.

Be a and STANDOUT. Do not be afraid to get hit by a few arrows🎯

Have a blessed week ahead.
